Conservatives: Will you vote for Obama?

I read one good question on this subject that revolved around ending the war in Iraq. But, here's another:

As a Fiscal Conservative who believes in small government, I don't have a horse in the race; I haven't had one in nearly 2 decades. For some reason, Republicans calling themselves "conservatives" (either social or neo-Cons) have controlled the party. We've gotten fat, in debt and exported our industrial might for cheap trinkets.

It's said an alcoholic or junkie has to "hit bottom" before he considers serious change. We hit bottom 1976-1980 and Jimmy Carter gave us Ronald Reagan. Because Carter's mistakes have been ignored or forgotten, I think it's time we hit bottom again, so a new generation can understand the experience. Since Obama will be our next Jimmy Carter, perhaps he will herald the next Ronal Reagan.

Certainly McCain will only perpetuate the Neo-Con "false conservatism" of the last 20 years. What say you?

Interesting question. Unfortunately, Obama will make for a very effective leader and I can't wait for him to prove it to you. I particularly like your criticism of the neocons. You can blame our debt on the Bush tax cuts and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Fiscal responsibility, despite your foreseen objections, truly is much more likely in an Obama administration than any neocon administration. Tax cuts for the wealthy will be reduced and the war in Iraq brought to a responsible close so we stop spending billions and billions on something that has brought us NOTHING. Social programs will see increased funding but that will be more than offset by the other things I just mentioned.

in simple terms top, no person has well-known any president extremely. all of them have had to lie in a innovations-set or the different. i anticipate even George Washington had to administration that variety of stuff. I thank God thinking the reality that he helped the founding fathers create one among those a mahnificent technique, which has been a style to incredible intense-superb international places. As i'm a naturalized citizen of the U.S. i'm going to be geared up to declare that there is not any distinctive usa that delivers freedom and possibilities for each and each guy or woman. The reason why im voting for Obama is via the fact little ones that each physique presidents have been hated at some ingredient, he's not any doubt between the least hated. Im additionally voting for him for the reason that i already be attentive to his artwork as president. larger a "undesirable" widely used, than a "great" I havent properly-universal. Whomever we vote for the rustic will nevertheless be as intense-high quality provided that it has continually been. All that presented that we've human beings such as you, who dont conform with in simple terms Obama, inspite of the reality which you want extra desirable than that. i understand you wont amusement till you have obtained an superior technique than you have gotten obtained now. it is the american spirit, and that i compliment it!

Despite McCain's many flaws in the eyes of a conservative, there is one huge fact that is crystal clear: John McCain will appoint judges who are strict constructionists. Obama will appoint judges who think it's ok for a judge to help out as he deems proper through his rulings despite what the law says or has been. In other words, Obama's judges will make it up as they go along.

The two candidates have stated publicly those respective positions, and I believe only the legislature should legislate.

Obama, NO. But I see this year as to protest vote with a third party, probably Libertarian. My view is with McCain or Obama, we lose. So, with nothing to lose.... now is the time to voice a protest vote. If I vote for Obama, it will be interpreted as support. Anyway, if I ever did lose my mind and vote Obama, it would be to expedite the demise of our fine country so that the people will feel the pain. It is through pain that people wake up and change.

    Interesting concept.

If Oblama is elected he definitely could be our most failed president. I never thought of anyone taking the title from Jimmy Carter, but the list of Jimmy's reign of ignorance produces too long of a list to type out.

You are on to something Oblama maybe our Jimmy Carter for the next century

I just can't vote for Obama because I understand the real damage he will do now. I'm not a fan of McCain either and will likely check out my options within the smaller parties..

You are correct in the idea of Senator McCain being a false conservative. He is still more conservative than Senator Obama, and therefor will garner the conservative vote.

No, I will not vote for Obama under ANY circumstances! Sometimes when we take a step backward, hoping to take two forward, we find we have fallen into a hole from which there is no recovery. Obama IS that hole.
