Anyone who's had LVRS lung surgery for COPD?
If you've had lung reduction surgery, can you say how it went? how long in hospital? how long recovery at home? how soon can you bathe, dress etc without help?
Did it really make a big difference to your life? do you stay better for a long time afterwards?
thanks in advance
no links please, I'd like to hear personal experiences

I haven't had a lung reduction surgery but I have had 2 lung biopsies, both times it took about a month to get around afterwards, the second time which was last July was kind of an in and out again hospital thing, I had surgery ona monday, got discharged tuesday, got readmitted wednesday, a week later I had to have a chest tube put in, had that in a week, went home for a week, came back with a collapsed lung. As for bathing it is just a matter of manouvering around the pain, I could get dressed easily but I had trouble pulling my pants up as I didnt want to bend over as it was painful. While I was in hospital for my lung biopsy there was a woman across from me who had a lung removed, she looked in better shape than I was but she was also probably on some strong medication. It just depends overall. I dunno if my answer helped but I hope it did =)
