Finding a bridal gown with straps?
I am getting married in Sept '09 and have just started looking for ideas for my wedding dress. I want a wedding dress with straps wide enough that I can wear a regular strapped bra under it without having to worry about the bra strap showing throughout the night. Here is the only dress I've been able to find that would fit what I'm looking for. http://cgi.ebay.com/EVA-HAYNAL-FORSYTH-8940B-BRIDA...
Some stores will add spaghetti straps or lace sleeves on, but that is not going to cut it. I know that strapless is all the rage, but does anyone know where I can find other dresses with wide straps on the shoulders?

I wish i could help you on this. That's exactly what i wanted too and none of the bridal shops had any dresses with straps unless they were off the shoulder and they looked terrible on me. All they had was strapless and and halter dresses. I was so against strapless dresses, but once i tried one on i fell in love with it and didn't want anything else. A lot of strapless dresses have a built in corset or boustier so, depending on your chest size, you might not have to worry about a bra at all.
You never know what what you're going to like until you start trying things on. I looked at tons of magazines and online photos and and had a very firm idea of what i wanted before i started shopping and in the end i ended up with something completely different. So go shopping with an open mind. Good luck!

i bet you could find the dress with the sleeves you want. But my other idea would be is to have a seamstress put straps on the dress. I think i might do this to my dress. I love my dress now as a strapless dress but i would feel alittle more comfortable with some spaghetti straps on them. My mom is a professional seamstress so she will be doing this to my dress if i want to decide on it. It's not a hard thing to do.

You can go to a great seamstress and have the thicker straps added on. Most seamstresses that work with bridal shops are familiar with this. One of my friends had it done due to the size of her "top half". She is a 36 F and she was just not comfy with a strapless bra under her dress, so they added thick satin straps to her dress and the seamstress added them to where it looked like they were made with the dress.

My friend's mother made her wedding dress and the pattern was strapless, but she just used ribbon and attached it as straps. I would use the same color as the trim.

also if your worried about your straps showing, using a bit of fashion tape helps keep them in place.
