Baby in a swimming pool. Gross?
Does anyone else think its gross to swim in a pool with a baby. They poop and pee into their diaper, and I don't care how tight those lil swimmers are. Its still contaminating my pool. I'm talking about straight up dookie and piss here. Does anyone else find this gross?
for those of you ripping on me....perhaps you enjoy swimming in a toilet. Thats your choice. I prefer non fecal waters. But hey, I guess I am just "an ignorant fool". When you flush a toilet, the water goes away. That don't mean I wanna jump in and cool off.

As a pool owner and a mom to a two year old, I have no qualms that the itty bit amount of piddle my daughter may or may not emit despite wearing a swimmie diaper will cause me permanent harm. The wonderful thing about a pool is it has chlorine to kill the germs.
As a nation we have become extremely germ phobic which has led to other problems such as allergies. Allergies occur when the immune system has nothing to fight so it turns on itself and causes reactions in everyday things like nuts and milk.
Not to mention the sheer joy on my daughter's face when she is in the pool is worth any little piddle that might be hanging out with me! :)

Not sure about the U.S. but in Australia if feces, blood,or clear glass is found by law you are supposed to empty pool to decontaminate. Mainly becuase the microscopic germs and bugs don't get picked up by the filter system. Actually in Aus you are not aloud to have nappies/diapers in the pool they must be designed for swimming in

Its no worse then having little kids in the pool who pee alot more freely then babies in diapers. It is gross if they poop , but its going to happen, thats why they clean and have chemicals in the pool to keep it clean. If you dont like it, then dont swim there and find some place that doesnt have children around to swim.

yea i do but if you have a pool filter and a net just take out the poop and stay out the water for a while, while the filter cleans the water that don't let the baby go in the pool again but yea thats soooooo gross

Why are you asking this question in a place where everyone here has a toddler? I used to get grossed out easy, but now I have a 2 year old, and my tolerance is MUCH higher. They're kids....everybody poops, get over it. The little swimmers work well, for your information.

well at my local pool with have a baby pool and an adult pool.
But they are not normal diapers that babies wear in the pool they are special water ones and they stop any contamination in the pool what so ever and if a baby was to leak any pee the water would turn drak blue/green around them and the pool would have to be cleaned out, so therefore if you see no dark patch around mother and baby the pool is completely clean and the babies are not contaminating the water!!
hope this helped xxxx

As a parent, I have been pooped on, pissed on, spit on, puked on and bled on. I am so not worried about what a baby does in a pool full of chemicals and filters.

Don't be such an ignorant fool. I hope this "pool" you speak of is chlorinated, hence killing anything that might cause you harm. Relax there chief, as long as it's got some chemicals, it's not contaminating anything but your brain.
