Should GW be classified as a religion?

It cannot be proven. It requires blind faith to believe in

Followers are called believers

GW profits claim to predict the future and claim “THE End IS NEAR”

GW organizations are tax exempt

Certainly has all the qualities of a religion.

Update:

As a religion, GW believers would no longer be able to scare children in school.

Many wise people believe in religion. Those who believe in global warming are not wise, and their only God is Al Gore and his rag-tag line of dumpy 'scientists' (I use the term scientist very loosely here). It's not a religion....more of a cult in the same way Jonestown was.

Yes, GW a cult for atheists and elitists who care nothing about people who work for a living and enjoy pretending to care about something.

Elitists claim "educated" people support GW. A college education is purchased, anyone with enough money and free time can buy one (can you say elitist). Education is parroting back whatever the teacher says. Hardly an admirable quality.

Getting GW out of the schools is an especially good idea.

Interesting. The point of religion - is - to scare little children in school. So on that point I guess it qualifies.

The end is not near unless we sit on our thumbs. And most of us aren't going to do that, because we give a hoot. You should try it sometime.

If you are not familiar with the protocol for qualifying for non-profit status, I've attached a link below. From that site:

"A non-profit organization is formed to benefit the community. Claiming non-profit status offers benefits such as tax exemption and the ability to receive donations and grants."

They are audited to ensure that they qualify to maintain that status.

I don't believe, I inform, based on the research I've done on the subject. Not something I heard 2nd hand. You want me to look up the definitions of 'inform' and 'preach' for you in Websters, I would be only too glad to do so.

    C'mon.

lolol, "it cannot be proven. It requites blind faith to believe in"

blind faith means that you believe in something despite the lack of evidence behind it. The fact that global warming cannot be proven doesn't mean there's no evidence behind it.

No, not all AGW organizations are tax exempt.

    it's spelled *prophets

Lastly, what's your stance on these theories:

The Big Bang (can't be proven--just a theory!)

    Gravity (don't know what's casuing it--just a theory!)

    Evolution (again, can't be proven--just a theory!)

Relativity (reason people call Einstein a genius--and it's not because he based his theory on "blind faith," but rather scientific data--alas, just a theory!)

Cell Theory, the idea cells are the basic unit of life (where did the first cell come from? We don't know! So it's: just a theory!)

It takes more faith than most other religions.

I used to live by Prince George BC and I never saw many Pine trees.

Mostly fir, spruce, birch and poplar.

When a person drives west from Prince George, BC, there are thousands of square miles of red, dying pine trees. Ten years ago, these were previously healthy trees. These trees have been affected by the mountain pine beetle.

If there are at least a few days of -40 winter weather, the beetles are killed. We just aren't getting those cold winters any more, and the area of dead and dying pine forest moves steadily northward.

This isn't a matter of blind faith: all a person has to open their eyes, and look.

This isn't a matter of belief, it's a matter of simple observation.

    Yes.

The man-made global warming followers really do "believe" in their science. But all the belief in the world doesn't make it true, it just makes it a cult.

    it's a cult of loons.

linlyons learn to spell. it's Khmer Rouge for one thing. having a PhD makes you smart? i can get a PhD does that make me smarter than you? I would be embarrassed if i was all of those Scientist who are a part of the consensus of Global Warming. science is not about consensus at all. it is about proving or disproving things not having a consensus. but hey if I'm the winner your the loser, you believe them.
