Depends on your motherboard... But since you listed DDR as your RAM.

I'll just tell you what you need to run Intel Core 2 Quad 9300 which runs at 2.5GHz

    1) Any motherboard with P35 (also G33, P31, P43, X38, X48) chipset or better like P45, get n750i, n780i, n790i if you want to SLI nVidia graphics card

    2) DDR2 RAM or DDR3 RAM depending on the motherboard.

    3) You cannot put DDR RAM into an DDR2 Supported motherboard as they are physically different..

motherboard that support P4/dual core/C2D/Quad core is LGA775 socket motherboard and so you need to upgrade to DDR2 or DDR3(if you get enough budget, Motherboard that support DDR3 too expensive Right now) because Motherboard with LGA775 support with DDR2/3 in it.

i suggest you sell you old computer and buy new one, so you can pick all component more easier without confuse with compability of your component, and more cheap too

The Mother Board is different for Core 2 Duo, also it's different for Quad core.

    RAM is fine.
