I hate being in college?
I really do. I hate it because I never was the best student in the world and I just can't concentrate. It seems that even when I do try, there are still those times when I just can't do it. But there is one hitch as to why I just don't do something about it. My parents. They have payed for a year of college, give me a place to live, and food to eat. How am I supposed to tell them that this isn't what I want? I don't want to waste any more money just because they want me to be there.
But I can't really make a living without something. I can't move out and survive on my own especially when I can barely make it living with my parents.
How can I be a better student so that I can survive? How can I do better so I can get through? I love my major and want to continue with it but I just hate the whole school experience.

you can't do it alone. seriously, get a study group (of people who actually want to study) it will help so much. you'll have a support group of friends with the same goal of achieving success, and you'll be more likely do do other stuff which will help make things less stressful. get off campus as often as you can, so you have some distance. college is a very enclosed high stress environment; they don't call it the tower for nothing. when i was in college, and A was everything. and now i can't even imagine being in a world where the next test was like life or death, seriously. anyway, hope this helps.

Well, what exactly is the problem? I don't really understand. You say you hate it because you're not a great student, but you also say you love your major and want to continue with it. So what IS the problem? Is it feeling overwhelmed by all the work so that you procrastinate and then don't do well? Is it the people at the school? Identify exactly what the problem is--you can't just say "I hate it because I'm not a good student--you need to find the source of the problem, and then fix it. If you hate doing the whole school thing--tests, quizzes, whatever--then maybe you should go to a school that's less structured--more liberal. A place like Hampshire College, where they don't even have grades, just written evaluations.
If you don't like your school, transfer.

Try majoring in something you are actually interested in. If you have no idea, consider getting an associates degree in something like Dental Assisting. You can graduate and get a very good paying job. My wife went to school for dental assisting, completed her certification and got a higher paying job than her sister who received her bachelor's in business. She got a job at Bank of America as a head teller. Now my wife is beating her out again because she is going back for Hygiene.

I don't understand how you can love your major but hate studying for it. If you told me what your major is, I could help, maybe.
