How do you go about finding a good Babysitter?
My husband and I would like to go out more. Our parents live far away and so do our siblings. Most of our friends are out of state. How do you go about finding a responsible / reliable babysitter to take care of your child. I dont have too many people I can ask and I don't want to trust some John or Jane Doe with my 2 year old child. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

they first place you might try is the local red cross they have a babysitting course and could possibly put you in touch with girls that have gone through and finished their course. the course covers everything my daughter has been through it. also you might try the local high school most offer an child care elective of some kind and might recommend people who did well in the class.

one place where i have found reliable helpers is my church. i don't know if you're part of a church, but if you are, you can be sure to find some reliable people there to whom you safely entrust your child and have peace of mind to enjoy your evening with your husband.
