Strictly speaking, 'belting' is when your force a sound that's not your natural sound out, in order to be loud and powerful. Belters typically 'chest' everything, and many belter-type songs hover around your lower and middle register (so that you can belt them out easily). Classic example is many Broadway musicals - belting is the type of sound you hear from the singers on stage. It can be dangerous when you don't know how to do it properly, and you need special training to belt healthily so that you don't lose your voice quickly.

It is often referred to as a Broadway Belt. It's singing 'to the back of a room' really projecting all the way. Not to the point of screaming though. It's a very forward sound. You hear it in broadway musical alot!

its when you sing loudly, and dont hold any sound back. it is the opposite of breathy tone. it is an extreme, loud, powerful style of singing (: hope that helps.

It means it's loud, really letting the noise out, not holding back.
