Any psychologists/psych majors out there? I could use advice.?

Hard to say....but my guess is she is trying to be "like you"...this has happened with a social worker and her client whom I advise..her client was bi-polar. I had it happen to me once with an employee, who was "depressive". In both of the cases I am aware of they were identifying with us, wanted to be like us....it was a twisted admiration...and also a way of saying "if I am like you, you will see me as you and therefore won't harm me".....It's not malice nor jealousy, but definately "not logical". In both cases I shared the relationship was "immediately terminated".....be cautious...the social worker is now being stalked since she terminated her client....client is very verbally aggressive now, treating it almost like a "broken love relationship". Social worker now has police protection and court order of protection. Distance yourself from your employee. Have you talked to HR? They can deal with medical/psychological issues that you as a manager cannot.....good luck, and be safe (psychologist)
