Besides marijuana, what can calm me down and reduce seizures?
I have epilepsy. I am on medication which controls my seizures day to day. My seizures are triggered mostly by stress and although my medication controls it on a day to day basis, I also have a medical marijuana license allowing me to purchase marijuana if I feel there is too much on my mind. Is there anything else, besides marijuana, I can take in times of extreme stress, where even my daily medication can't control my seizures? (examples of extreme stress situations where my medication might not be able to control the seizures include finals week, or as I have experienced in the past- a death in the family.)
It is understandable that everyone experiences the same things I do and everyone undergoes stress. But not everyone has the same condition as I do where extreme stress causes too much activity in the part of the brain that impairs my motor skills... causing both absent and convulsive seizures.

just wanted to let you know i too suffer from stress related seizures, the neurologist also told me i can not drive, which at first i was upset about as i felt bad for not being able to fit in with others and being able to drive, but i slowly came to terms with it,so i have learned to deal with my limitations.Have you tried relaxing techniques, such as breathing excersises,or even some soothing music or even aroma therapy as sometimes smelling some nice scents can help. Also you might have to limit the stress you are exposed too.

How about cupcakes? they reduce my stress. or maybe go for a walk, with someone in case of a seizure, and talk to him/her about the stuff that's stressing you out. maybe come here and answer some questions. or research a famous person for extra credit at school. or bake cookies, read a good book--Barnes and Noble!--go to sleep, take a shower, count to 10 and take deep breaths, find the silver lining in your current cloud(cheesy, i know, but i couldn't help myself). also, ask your doctor. if you feel you can, get off the weed. it's not good for you, even if it is medicinal. ask your doctor about regular stress relievers. good luck:)

Eat healthy and exercise. Everyone has finals and deaths in their families... get a grip. Not everyone smokes pot when these things happen nor do they stress completely the heck out. Its not like you can change it and your either prepared or your not for tests.
Iron deficency test: Go to the mirror and pull your lower eyelid and see if the color is red or flesh color. If its flesh colored you are lacking enough iron and should take a herbal iron like Floradix. It will take a month to see a difference. Iron carrys oxygen in your blood and if you dont have it you will feel tired, cold hands and feet, headaches, RLS, dull brittle hair, brittle nails, poor sleep, pale skin (see thru), shortness of breath, fatigue, poor concentration, low mood, ringing in the ears, irregular heart beats, cracks in the corner of the mouth, dizziness, fainting, sore tongue and canker sores. Valerian root pills. It's a nerve tonic, anti-spasmodic and anti-seizure herb. Magnesium and calcium are good for the nerves as well.

You need to go back to your doctor and ask him. I've never heard of someone having a marijuana license just for having "too much on my mind." With epilepsy, I definetly think that asking on here is stupid--talk with you MD.

There are a class of drugs called benzodiazapines..that can really help with anxiety and seizures, they can be addicting and can build a tolerance to them, but you can discuss it further with your doctor.....
