Obama vs Hillary for 2012: How do you think it will play out if Obama ran for a second term?
We all know that Hillary will be running again :)
So what do you think?
I know alot will be based on how well Obama did on his 1st term, but do you think Hillary will be a better opponent that go around in the Primaries?
Let's discuss....Please no insults...just intellect. Thanks!
It's not recommended that a Dem runs against a Dem President after their 1st term. But nothing says that they can't..as far as I know.

If Obama wins this election and chooses to run for a second term, Senator Clinton will not oppose him. Sitting presidents pretty much automatically get their party's nomination for a second term.
If Obama does not win the election, he will not run for President again. You don't get second chances like that.
The next time Sen. Clinton will run for president will either be in 4 years, if McCain wins or in 8 years, if Obama wins.
How she does in those primaries will really depend on what the winner of this election does.

If Obama manged to get elected it would be another Jimmy Carter Administration. America could not get rid of him quick enough. Carter kept the Democrats out of White House contention for a long time. In fact, even Bill Clinton only got elected because of Perot being a spoiler for the Republicans. He never got even 50% of the vote. It is very likely that if Perot had not interferred, there would have been a Republican President then, too.
An unsuccessful Obama will not help Hillary's chances.

Hillary will not run against an incumbent president from her own party. If he wins this fall, Hillary is out of the presidential picture until 2016, at which point the party may find her too old.

Hillary by landslide.
Many early primary voters deeply regret not voting for Hillary after seeing how everything went down.
America will soon find out just how much bigger a mess they've made when inexperienced obama wins and fails to deliver any substance.

If Obama wins now, Hillary will not run in 2012. It is unlikely that anyone would run against the incumbent in their own party. She may try again in 2016 though.

If Obama runs for a second term, no democrat can run against the incumbent president. Hillary would have to switch parties.

LOL! Second term?? Hillary "suspended" her campaign, she did not concede and has not released her delegates. She knows it's a long time to November and although the press is in the tank for Obama there are new revelations daily about his past and it's just going to get worse as the election approaches.
Don't count Miss Hillary out just yet. :)

I think the race would more exciting than Obama vs Doomed McCain.
I wouldn't vote for Hillary but I sure many would.
However Obama would still win.

If Obama is the incumbent other Dems won't run against him. He will be the de facto candidate.
