Question

I have many friends among the Jews and have even acquired a smattering of Hebrew from them. We have all been always supported one another and I've never heard of rampant Antisemitism by the Christian, though we do know that there are some very rare cases somewhere, sometimes; that do happen.

However, over the past couple of months, I'm disturbed to see a spate of "Jewish" people going around here with JPA on their nicks who are posting a lot of "Questions"  like this one where they are deliberately insulting the Christians.

This appalls me because they seem to want to divide us at this time when Iran is threatening to wipe Israel of the face of the Earth. 

Please star this to avoid it's being swiftly removed by the divisive people.

How can we stand united against things like this?

You can do what muslims do... put a strong united front to outsiders, then bicker among yourselves once the outsiders have volunteered to join your club.

The union you want seems more political than religious, considering Jews and Muslims have more in common with each other theologically than the Jews and Christians do.

Shalom, Simon.  I think that most of us DO want peace amongst ourselves (although whatever would we have to gently bicker about? ;-))
The issue is that many have been arguing that Messianic Judaism is something that should NOT disturb Jews and why can't we just accept Jesus as the Moshiach and live and let live?
As has been posted, the Messianic Jewish movement was started by a Baptist minister for the express purpose of converting Jews to Christianity.  If you look on his website (Jews for Jesus), you'll find that evangelism is paramount and even some folks here have mentioned that lies and deception seem to be their modus operandi. 
Personally, I believe that some are misguided - they love the rituals and prayer but prefer to worship Jesus as the Moshiach.  Unfortunately, we do not see Jesus as our Moshiach; he did not fulfill the prophecies for this.  
We would LOVE for folks to learn Talmud and Torah in the original and understand WHY we do not believe Jesus is OUR Moshiach.  If folks wish to call themselves Messianics or True Believers, or whatever, that's fine.  But to call themselves JEWS is deceptive. 
We have gotten together to try and show how this harms the soul of Judaism; a lot of people have been approached by folks showing them the "new Jewish Tanakh"; it's the New Testament.  It's THIS deception that we argue against.
 I hope that you can see our predicament.

While I tend to word things more gently than the person to whom you link, I agree with her.  I do not agree with you that Christian anti-Semitism is rare here or anywhere else.  I agree with you that being diplomatic is generally preferable to being combative, but if you want to stand united with the Jewish people, I'd suggest just standing united with those who DO call "messianic Jews" what they are - Christians.  Even if you don't agree with the tone of every post. :)

You've never heard of rampant antisemitism by the Christian?  Are you new to Y/A?  Do you read the R&S questions often?
Well, there are apparently a lot of people who claim to be Christian at least who daily post and email hate to Jews here.  It is not hard to find at all.
I agree 100A% with Lady Suri here.

Paperback Writer is most certainly not out to insult any Christian of integrity.  We will confront those who insist on insulting and misrepresenting Jewish belief or attempt to present Christian dogma as a form of Judaism.  This is something  that ALL Jews here in this form, JPA *member* or not, are allied in agreement.  There are Jews of every Branch from 4 continents here who have been in agreement over the attempts to create dissention between Jews and Christians by misrepresentation of Judaism.  Thankfully there are also non-Jews and Christians of integrity here in Y/A who respect the right of the Jewish people to determine Judaism and Jewish identity through Jewish law.  I have both JPA members, Christians and others among my contacts. 

Every aspect of your question here reads as divisive IMHO.

I am  united with all humans of integrity who do not misrepresent others to justify their own choices or beliefs.

I have many contacts Jewish and non-Jewish who have the JPA after their name and I have not once seen what you accuse.  Why do you imply in your question that those with JPA after their name are not *real* Jews?

What then is the real purpose of this *question*?  

EDIT:  The only reason I don't have a JPA after my name is that I don't join any group in Y/A so that I do not give any appearance of limiting my contacts and friends to any particular group.  I have friends and contacts here of who are atheist, polytheist, pantheist, Deist, Muslim, Hindu, Zoroastrian, Wiccan, Christian ( Catholic, Protestant ( of several denominations) and Greek Orthodox)..I could keep going..but you get the picture.  I'm allied with everyone I find that is capable of civility and mutual respect.

While I agree things have gotten a bit testy around here, including to this question, I but understand it.

There is a spade of messianic christians who are going around -- asking questions to select answers that they are true Jews.  They are private emailing us in droves with awful insulting stuff.  

YOU can made a big difference.  Defend your Christainity against this stuff.  It's a blend of Christianity and manipulation of Jews.  Which makes it just creepy.  I know & like a lot of Christiain people & see how it adds value to their world, in the same way they see how J. adds value to ours.  Their beliefs aren't the problem.

The question you pointed out -- was a direct reply to one of the hits on us.  These hit questions are 1-2 times an hour at points, and part of answers to all sorts of Jewish questions.  

They aren't just attacking our beliefs.  They are pretending to be us, and putting up false information.

I do wish the JPA folk could cool down a bit.  But I too find myself getting hotter and hotter.  What i don't understand is why only our replies are counted as "unacceptable", but the egergious hits aren't even noticed?  How would you be acting under the same situation.  And remember, it's not just on R&S.  They've come to our houses, stood on our street corners, and lured our young ones & invalided elders.  So, it's a lot more emotional then a few mere insulting questions.  This is a new type of anti-semitism in reality....that they are the new & improved Jews & we are "incomplete".  When have we heard -- and been killed -- by that before?  So that's why all the boiled over blood, even on this question.  (I'd PM you to clarify, but i just saw that you had to close it down.)

I'm sorry you're seeing heat -- but why aren't the attacker's heat more obvious?  I'd really like to know.  I think we need to know.

FYI, there is plenty of anti-semitsm in the world.  All those little insults you see on here are by people who believe the whole hideous picture.  At times I've met them in life.  Sometimes it's your acquantinace that you would have never guessed it of in 10 years until one day they get so drunk....

You say nothing about the tons and tons and TONS of questions Jews on here get that actually ARE insulting, but the few times a Jew posts a question trying to make a POINT out of these insulting emails by other people, you call THEM hateful?

Let's get something straight. We are not a people to be "handled" or people you "need to be careful with." We are not dogs that may bite you. We are people. Do not talk about us in such a condescending way just because you think your religion is better than ours. 

Let's get another thing straight: just because you want to "help" us get back to Israel (so your man-god can resurrect himself and kill us all) it does not make you my friend, our friend. We are not "united together against Iran." People like YOU, my friend, who are condescending, patronizing, and who wear blinders, are part of our problem.

The use of the initials "JPA" is about as problematical as the efforts of certain Arabs to take over the Israel Travel section.

There is no logic, and certainly a great loss of self-respect for Jews to align themselves with the most extreme negation of Judaism.  While people who are ovdei avodah zarah and call themselves "pagans" may be very nice people, their ideology is abhorrent to the Jewish religion.

Similarly abhorrent is the attempt at Arab takeover of the Israel Travel section.

For example, one such person who calls himself Bosco who makes no bones about taking over the Israel section.

He wrote:
"Why not occupy the so-called "israel" travel category?"

The details of that question were as follows:
"I mean,I assume all Muslims sympathize with the Palestinians. It would be like a cyber version of a revolution. If enough Muslims just start posting on there - either issues relating to the Pals or just the same sort of thing you might post here - wouldn't you be ousting the yahoodi if enough people were doing it? It's not against the rules after all. Think of it...take over and convert it a de facto Palestine category. 
"Opinions?"

And you can help to destroy Yahoo Answers by doing as Bosco suggests.
