They like clean hari over dirty hair and while you think she has gotten them twice, it could be that you did not get rid of all of the nits the first time and she just had babies that hatched.
Not sure what treatment you are using right now but some of the ones that are available in stores may not work on some lice as they can become chemical resistent. Enzyme type treatments like are in some of the all natural brands will work a bit better and tend to loosen the glue that holds the nit to tthe hair shaft. The one that we use is NitFree that we buy online at www.Kleen-Free.com. They have what I would say is the best nit comb on the market at that site and I carry mine with me all the time now. They also have a mint spray that you are to spray on your child's hair and it will repel lice.
BUT, you have to kill all of the live lice from the hair and from a ll of her sheets, pillow, stuffed animals, etc and you have to get rid of all of the nits.
We did this and were lice and nit free in 3 days...and now we keep the shampoo and comb and spray in the house just in case. But I hope we never need it again. Good luck.

Keep her hair tied back if it's long enough and tell her not to touch heads with the other girls.
Nits love long, clean hair.
P.s when my daughter got them, there is no way I was going to put that poison on her head, they don't even work good anyway. I covered her wet hair in conditioner then used a nit comb and they just all came out, eggs as well, and she never got them again :-)

They jump around,so you can't stop them.Daily combing in a thorough way will be fine that way they have no time to breed and you will not notice that she had any lice. The comb.must be a fine, close tooth type that will push the lice out.Comb her straight after school each day, make sure you comb all of the hair.Shampoos and treatments don't work

I use to get lice when I was little. And I got it many many times, my head sweat which attracts them lice...they love a sweaty head, the best option is to wash her hair every day and wash the her sheet every week... just to ensure yourself that she wont get it. Also advise her not to put her head close to other children nor use their hair products

If it's a big problem with her at the school find a hair dye close to her normal hair color and use it on her. Lice will not go on dyed hair.

don't be a clean freak about her hair. like don't wash it ALL the time b/c lice tend to infest people with clean hair and scalp bc they can move around better

well ive heard that they like clean hair.. so try washing her hair every other day. do not let her share any hats, brushes, hair scrunchies ect. the doctor should give you a type of shampoo and use that!
