I would loose all respect for him if he did. Don't get me wrong I don't think he owes the Leafs jack sh!t, but at the trade deadline he went on that little tangent on how he wanted to finish his career with the Maple Leafs, so he damn well better finish his career with the Maple Leafs.

Most Habs fans want Sundin to play for us as much as most Leafs fans don't want him to leave.
But..in the end, it's not always about loyalty. Just because he's a loyal person, doesn't mean he's being disloyal to his fans by leaving the team. Though going to Montreal would definately be a blow. Every player wants to win the cup, what's the use of playing if you never have a chance. That's where the glory is in the NHL. By the time TO reorganizes, Sundin will retire.
Anyhow, the whole thing is just weird.

I dont know where he will go, but I doubt he will retire or return to the Leafs. At the deadline he said a major reason he didn't want to leave was because he didn't believe in the "rental player" idea. He pretty much said it would cheapen the experience of winning the cup and that he really wouldn't feel like part of the team. That being said, the chances of Sundin accepting a contract without a no trade clause is slim to none. The Leafs had a lot of guy with NTCs and werent able to get that many assets at the deadline because of it. I doubt they will be handing those NTCs out anymore, at least for a while.

Lang has stumbled on an outstanding area of interest for himself in Montreal. He replaced into acquaintances with Kovalev, stepping into, yet he's extremely managed to ascertain himself as a veteran chief on the crew. As for the evaluation, i imagine this is continuously constructive to hitch a crew on the start of the season. Sundin has somewhat some catching as a lot as do and under no circumstances each and every participant can on the prompt adjust to the bypass and velocity of the game after a lengthy layoff. Forsberg has had an uncanny capacity to take action repeatedly, yet we stated how confusing a job this is as Niedermayer and Selanne struggled to get into perfect variety after turning out to be a member of the ducks midway through the season. i do not recognize if this is even straightforward to judge Sundin and Lang's situation, yet we gained't extremely benefit this till the suitable of the season, in any case.

I am thinking probably NOT! Why? Simple... Sundin is a loyal person... and he wants to a part of the start of the NEW LEAFS... it would kill him (heart) if he left and they got better without him in 2 or 3 yrs.... he wants to be a part of the NEW..... Sundin is a loyal player that all LEAF fans should be proud of.... and if he wated a CUP, why not DET? More friends on that team and he would make DET unbelievable.....
2nd line... Sundin, Franzen, Filppula (or Samulesson).....Think about it... he knows his options, I think he wants to help the LEAFS grow..... thats just who he is, CLASS ACT!

Even though hes known to be a loyal and good person, I don't think hes gonna be sticking with the leafs. Goin to montreal would just be a huge insult to the leafs, so hes gonna go elsewhere.

If he's going to play for another NHL team it better not be the Habs!!!!!!!! Has he learned nothing here? Maybe the Rangers would be easier to swallow........Just not Montreal for all the wrong reasons. I think he''ll either retire or play for the Leafs.

Ahhhhh not this question again!
I think he's going with the Habs. There's no reason for him to resign with the Leafs, and I'm sure he's not ready to retire.

No i think he will stay with the leafs. He is a man of loyalty and he will stay true to his words!
