Do you think UK & US would use force to oust Robert McGabe if Zimbabwe had huge oil reserves?
Just interested...
We see / hear about the beatings, the voilence, the turmoil etc but apart from tough words and the odd sanction here and there, the international community still lets Rob McGabe reign terror! We all know he should have gone a long time ago and maybe Zimbabwe would be able to recover....
But then i recall Sadam Hussain. He too ruled with an unfair iron fist But we had two wars to get rid of him (and there already were sanctions in place too!) Why? I dont remember the first war reason but for the second, we were sold the WMD theory which were never found. SO the real reason for two gulf wars....OIL! 'Black gold' 'Texas tea' and all that!
Therefore im convinced that if Zimbabwe had the same oil fields wouldnt we therefore see the same eagerness to get in there and find some Weapons of Mass Destruction or something like?
Lets face it nothing else will get rid of Rob M and the sad thing is deep down, the US & UK leaders etc know this
Thoughts anybody?

We didn't get rid of Saddam because he was a monster, we have no problems with monsters so long as they let us exploit their oil. For example the Shah of Iran and the "government" of Saudi Arabia were (and are) US allies despite appalling human rights records and a complete absence of democracy. We got rid of Saddam because he had the radical idea that the oil wealth should be used to develop the region instead of being pumped into bank accounts in Switzerland and used to build ski hills in the desert for the ultra rich. So Mugabe's crimes would be irrelevant if he had oil and was cooperating with the "war on terror" scam. In fact if he had oil and was letting us exploit it...the USA would be arming him and declaring that the opposition were terrorists.

The US is a little strapped right now what with troops in Iraq, Afganistan, etc., maybe some of those worthless Europeans can pick up the slack? Probably not, we begged the Euros to do something about the fighting in the former Yugoslavia, but no we had to take care of that too! Btw, any oil in Kosovo?

Yeah, invade, throw the old cock-sucker out and establish democracy for the good of the children of Zimbabwe.
