1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs6 years agoWhat would be the effect on an economy if power was free?
I heard that studies in the fifties showed that the US GNP would drop if power was free, they were looking into it because they were optimistic about the prospects for nuclear power.
2 AnswersEconomics7 years agoMy Laars Lite 2 LD SPA/pool water heater won't start.?
Gas operated, electronic ignition. Gas and power supply are good. It's not a bad pressure switch since I jumped that and it still won't turn on. It worked fine until recently. The one inline fuse I could find is fine. Any ideas? Or suggested web sites/forims that might be able to help?
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoHow do I get along with a client's dog?
I have been a guest at their home on several occasions, and the dog was enthusiastically friendly with me, as he is with everyone. However, I had to enter their home recently and when I opened the door and called the dog, his demeanor was extremely threatening, head down, growling. As he is a large and dangerous dog, I hastily retreated. When the client arrived on site, the dog was just fine with me. How do I approach this situation and get along with the dog, I need to be able to get into the home when the client isn't there?
5 AnswersDogs8 years agoFacebook won't load, everything else just fine?
Facebook won't load for me, I just get the "Problem loading page" error page. It's on both my home computers. I reset the wireless router, cleared browsing history, etc. Facebook appears to be fine, a ping testing site I tried said Facebook was up, the problem was on my end. Every other site loads just fine.
1 AnswerFacebook9 years agoQuestion about unusual automotive paint?
I thought I read about this a few years back but now I'm not so sure, maybe I dreamt it or misunderstood something. I read there was a new type of automotive paint that was going to be available where a car would be a different colour depending on what direction it was viewed from. IE the car would be one colour if seen from the front but another if seen from the side. If this is real, what's it called and/or where can I found out more about it on line?

There were antiwar groups in Nazi Germany like the White Rose, I wonder if there was anything remotely similar in war time Japan, even individuals?
2 AnswersHistory9 years agoCan I re-position my spa pump?
I installed a used spa tub, four by six feet, with a 3/4 horse power series 6000 hydro flow pump. Unfortunately the tub was installed backwards, so that the spa pump is going to basically be impossible to install. My question is, can I re-position the spa pump about 3 feet away from its original position?

1 AnswerOther - United States10 years agoIs a wireless router a security risk?
I set up a wireless router for a friend. I selected what was told as the most secure from of encryption. Then my friend got a nasty virus on his laptop. He claims it was because of the router. I thought virus protection resided in the computer, not the router?
3 AnswersSecurity1 decade agoMy freezer compartment doesn't get cold enough?
It's set at full cold but barely keeps ice cream from melting. Neither it nor the fridge compartment are over packed, it's a frost free model. Is there anything I can check, or do I just call an appliance guy?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoA hot water heater not in use?
I have a rental cabin that's not going to be used indefinitely, in a temperate California climate. What should I do with the water heater to preserve it? Turn it off? Drain it? Something else?

1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoDoes NGC 3621 belong to any group of galaxies?
I know it doesn't belong to the Local Group, but that's as far as I was able to figure out on line. If it does, anyone know of a galaxy that doesn't really belong to any group a galaxies, truly an island universe so to speak?

5 AnswersBoard Games1 decade agoBicycle Tire Size Conversion?
I need a tire tube for my bike, the size on the tube is 700 x 35/43C. The tubes in my local walgreens are all size 27 X 1 1/4 or such. Is there a tube in the second standard that will do the trick, or do I have to actually hunt down a tube marked 700 x 35/43C? I tried to find a conversion table on line, but there appear to be several standards, and I'm a complete novice when it comes to bicycles. Thanks in advance.
4 AnswersCycling1 decade agoBlack and white image on TV?
I just hooked up my COMCAST cable to my TV, and the image is in black and white? It's not the cable because it's colour in the other room, what could be causing this? Could I have hooked the cables up wrong, or is there some setting on the TV that could be messed up?
