eMachines?

What do you think of the eMachine brand of computer?

My husband needs to replace his system and is leaning towards buying an eMachine. I know when they first came out they were not that reliable. Has that improved or is he better off spending a few more bucks for an HP, or Dell?

i just bought a brand new dell computer. but i had been using an emachine for around 4 years.

i used the same emachine throughout that whole time, and had no problems whatsoever. it's a good, reliable computer ;)

the only reason i bought a dell was because i figured i could either upgrade the RAM and graphics, or just buy a new since i have had it all these years. so i decided to just buy new. but... it's still a great computer, nonetheless.

eMachines is a perfectly fine brand. Dell and HP are fine as well. They are comparable enough that you should be shopping based on what you need, and not brand names.

They appear to be the "Kia" of computers. They are reasonalby fucntional, generally dependable but shoud not be considered the same as an Hp. Dell Apple etc. For limited use, they are fine.
