How can I remotivate myself to lose weight?

My beginning reason to lose weight was to impress a guy. Yes, I know it is pathetic. Ironically, my motivation turned from impressing him to impressing me because I saw progress and gained confidence. As a result, I lost 50 lbs, my health got better and I liked how I looked.

But, after a depressing spring college semester (which included the guy leaving school for the semester and letting go of other things in my life) I fell back into a sedentary lifestyle, my old eating habits and regained my low self-esteem. I think I've also gained 6 - 8 lbs.

Now, I feel like I'm back to square one. I don't have the motivation I need to try this again. I feel defeated because I'm starting all over again. And, I'm a bit bored with what I did beforehand to lose weight.

Any suggestions on how to remotivate myself to lose weight again? And, how do I do it without feeling like I'm trying to impress this guy (who's coming back to school) or any guy again as a source of my self-worth?

    Well .. the motivation of course should not be the guy but you. Come on you looked great when you lose the weight and you felt great didn't you?

    So .. the 6 to 8 pounds was just a set back, I always say that losing the weight and keeping it off is a lifestyle change, you went back to the habits that created the pounds in the first place, now it's time to gradually change your lifestyle to not only lose that 6 to 8 pounds but to never gain it back again.

    It's the little things that makes the difference .. gradually change your sedentary lifestyle, incorporate activities in your day to day life so you won't get bored. We tend to make our lives easy by not having to do things but the downside is of course gaining weight.

    Example; I purposely print individual letters and instead of going to the nearest printer (behind me) I instead go to the one that is farther away, instead of waiting and printing all of the letters a that end of the day I get up and get each letter (about 30-40) wearing a pedometer to check my miles/steps .. it may sound silly to some but I've lost weight not a lot in a short time but a little that I will keep off. Leave the parking space at the entrance and walk. Guys will come and go .. you should consider a more substantial reason to lose weight such as your health and you will look better.

    pick up a 5 or 10 pound weight at the gym and visualize that weight coming off holding the weight in your hands helps bring home just how heavy even 5 pounds of extra fat can be

    Do it for you and your health. If you exercise again you will gain your self motivation back, and look better than you do now, and you will feel healthier.

    And as an added bones you man will notice you efforts and know that you care about your self not what people think!

    I'm with you on this one. I lost weight and gained it all back but want to lose it again as well. I just don't know how.

    alternate between cat pose cow pose and downward dog 13 times holding each for 30 seconds

    You need to just think about that good feeling that you had when your body was starting to look the way you really wanted it to. I try to visualize how good I feel when I am in better shape. You just carry yourself so much better, and feel more positive.
