What should I expect in the way of wedding gifts?
We are having a somewhat small backyard wedding with about 75 guests. It will be catered, what can I expect in the way of monetary gifts? I at least want to have some to spend on our wee-klong honeymoon. Thanks

you shouldn't expect anything. you should expect your guests to come and celebrate with you. don't count on money for the honeymoon when you plan it.

You should not expect money from your guests. How rude is that. Some people bring gift cards, some bring nothing, some bring an actual gift, some bring cash but you can't rely on your gifts as your cash for the honeymoon. I say work more or cut things from the wedding if you don't have enough money to spend on your honeymoon...Or spend most of your honeymoon in the bedroom where you won't have to spend much money anyway.

Did you have a registry? You can expect to get lots of things from that, and some other random things. Definitely have a dollar dance. They are meant to get the new bride and groom spending money on their honeymoon.

WOW!! Getting married is not about presents!! If its a small wedding most may not even bring a present. Sounds like your wedding is pretty informal! It also sounds like you better be working extra hours so YOU WILL HAVE YOUR OWN MONEY TO SPEND!! There's a thought!!

It depends on the age of your guests. If you are having 20 year olds, plan on being disappointed. Just the fact that you're asking the question indicates that you're young.

I wouldn't expect any money, only because you may be disappointed! People may all bring gifts, you never know....
What about doing a dollar dance? Sure to bring in some cash...
