Has anyone had trouble getting a response from the bcspca????

My understanding is that they are supposed to check out all complaints. they have been aware of these horses for going on 6 years. There is feed in the yard but the horses can not get to it. There are about 25 head involved down from 45 or so last year. They are not saleable as they are unbroken and only the older ones are halter broke. Their ribs are visible. The ones sold went for slaughter which was kinder than the sorry lives these horses live. The owner has no money.. Some look to be as wide across the chest as they are between the eyes. Seems the bcspca will do nothing until a few die. Then they rush in and save the animals and get all the donations for doing such a wonderful rescue. They seem to forget the 50 dairy cattle that starved to death in the Fraser Valley because no one acted earlier or the 30 horses that starved to death in Andrew Alberta earlier this year. Sad .

Oh gosh. 6 years? Complain again and again and again, once a week until you get an answer.

I would go right down to the shelter and talk in person this is awful, also if the SPCA isn't doing something is it possible you could? or another rescue facility near you? Look for BC horse rescue places and call them up, they may be able to help you.

i would suggest taking pictures and mailing/emailing it to them...there should be a higher power than the spca. Try calling the autorities to get their attention. Does your state have a local department of agriculture? You could call them, here id GA the dept of ag is in charge of the horse complaints. If all else fails...call P.I.T.A.!! And tell them your story of failed attempts to save these horses.

i would be ringing up every day not every week. if you can take photos and send them to the bcspca so they can see the state of the horses, good luck
