  • Does anyone think Ty Murray deserves to call himself King of the Cowboys?

Seems he gets his kicks out of chasing elk in deep snow with a snowmobile then jumping on them and riding them. Sick way for a rich jerk to act.

  • How long does it take to have them out.?

My son and his family managed my farm in B.C. They quit without telling me and sold cattle, machinery etc belonging to me. I live in Quebec and trusted them. I supplied them with everything and paid them $2000 per month for personal expenses. They are presently living on one of my properties that is in joint ownership between my son and myself. They have never paid rent and have a lot of my possessions on this property. Do I have any chance of getting them out.??

She is now in B.C. Canada where there is 25 inches of snow for her to play in.

  • Why does she do this?

I have a beautiful german shepherd female picked up as a stray in Washinton state. I adopted her 5 months ago She is overly friendly to everything and everyone. She is an excellent house dog. I spend most of my time outside with the horses, poultry or doing yard work. She does her own thing and seldom ever is around me when i'm outside. My acreage is fenced 95% with page wire fencing and that is the only thing that keeps her home. A neighbor brought her home one evening and I had to go and look for her tonight. She doesn't know enough to come home. My guess is she was a house or apartment dog that was on her own all day long and never learned to be a real companion. Does anyone else think this could be the reason she acts this way??? Can it be corrected??

  • Monty Roberts instructor uses a light rope halter under the lip to prevent bucking??

Has anyone used this successfully or heard of it. It sounds like cheating to me. The horse is only supposed to feel pain if he puts his head down to buck. Made of fine cord and worn over the bridle then tied to the saddle horn. Seems to me it is like puttting blinders on a horse or cow kickers on a cow. If you forget to use it the behavior will still be there. I am going to pass on using it. It reminds me of a twitch or war bridle. The same idea.

  • Has anyone done Monty Robert's join-up successfully??

I have a 5 year old mare that was at a trainers for 6 weeks. She chewed the bit, stumbled and felt like a freight wagon.. Another trainer did the join-up on her and we are now doing fine. I have a 5 year old paint mare that bucked me off 2 years ago. She wanted to go to the barn and I didn't. Would the join-up make her not buck or just less likely to. I have a wonderful new hip and the neuro surgeon said ride but don't get bucked off. Both mares were ridden by a trainer as 3 year olds but never out of the round pen. They did not know how to go the left when he brought them back.

  • Do female dogs suffer post partum depression?????

I adopted a german shepherd female from an animal shelter. Four weeks later she was showing signs of being pregnant. She was spayed and the unborn puppies euthanized. She is a really nice dog and healed nicely. She is stange in the fact that unlike most shepherds she is content to lay on the concrete under my truck all day long except in the morning when she follows my horse and I around when we ride. The fact that she was pregnant makes me feel like she still thinks she is going to be a mother. No one explained to her that after she awakened from the sedation she would no longer be a mother. It is almost like she just wants to be alone.

  • Did you know horses are raised for meat in the U.S.????

They are then shipped to Calgary where up to 114 are loaded on a plane and shipped to Japan. They are bred strictly for meat. They are butchered within 3 days in Japan and are worth close to $20,000.00 each.

  • Has anyone had trouble getting a response from the bcspca????

My understanding is that they are supposed to check out all complaints. they have been aware of these horses for going on 6 years. There is feed in the yard but the horses can not get to it. There are about 25 head involved down from 45 or so last year. They are not saleable as they are unbroken and only the older ones are halter broke. Their ribs are visible. The ones sold went for slaughter which was kinder than the sorry lives these horses live. The owner has no money.. Some look to be as wide across the chest as they are between the eyes. Seems the bcspca will do nothing until a few die. Then they rush in and save the animals and get all the donations for doing such a wonderful rescue. They seem to forget the 50 dairy cattle that starved to death in the Fraser Valley because no one acted earlier or the 30 horses that starved to death in Andrew Alberta earlier this year. Sad .

  • Has anyone ever heard of a person losing their property?

This person lost her property for non payment of property taxes. The ministry of Agriculture and Lands holds title to it now since 2006. She continues to live there with a herd of half starved horses. Seems she wrote a letter promising topay the back taxes and get the property back someday. She has no money and has problems buying enough feed to keep the neglected horses alive. This is in B.c. Canada. Would she not be classed as a squatter???
