Which seafood and fish are low in iodine?
My daughters biological father is deathly allergic to iodine. Due to this her pediatrician has recomended that we avoid all fish and seafood that are high in this until she's 5. i know that lobster and salmon are extremly high in iodine. What i don't know is which fish and seafoods are low in iodine other than cod and haddock. Also please include links that give further information or lists in your answer. Thanks!

You need to eat only fresh water fish, like farm-raised catfish. Fresh water fish is low in iodine.

Large quantities of iodine have been produced from the ashes of burned seaweed. Therefore I would assume that fish or crustaceans that feed on seaweed would have deposits of iodine in their meat/tissue. If I were iodine allergic or intolerant I would stay away from any and all seafood.

"only sea water fish in the diet can be regarded as a really good iodine source."
The article said that the skin contained more iodine, and that larger fish contained more iodine. I would recommend trout.
Also, any salted snack foods should be assumed to have iodized salt on them.
