Wow, Lowe finally fires back at Burke?
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=242532&lid=headlin...
What do you think? If you had topick sides, would you go with Burke or Lowe? Do you disagree with anything Lowe said? Any other opinions?
I was kind of surprised to hear him call Anaheim a "pathetic hockey market". Theres a pretty big difference between saying bad things about Burke and saying bad things about the city.

I can't wait for Burke to be explaining to the world how good his Leafs are. It'll give new meaning to the expression "He's so full of it, his eyes are brown."

Burke has always been a major league jackass with a big mouth who has plenty to say about a lot of things. He is the same guy who complains when Pronger does another stupid move and gets a 1 or 2 game suspension (a perfect candidate for anger management). He will always claim Pronger did nothing wrong but touch one of his guys and he wants them banned from hockey. Lowe isnt the brightest guy when it comes to cap management but that is the way it is, Burke could have matched the Penner offer....he would have needed to make other moves to fit him under the cap but why do you think Lowe offered that much in the first place? To make sure there would be no matching his offer. I would side with anyone over Burke but Lowe should not have attacked the Ducks fans. They have nothing to do with the business end of hockey and he lowered himself to Burkes level this time. Both guys need to worry about their own teams....neither can be happy with the way last season ended up.
Although Lowe did the wrong thing by Ducks fans I am glad to see him fire back at Bigmouth Burke....enough is enough and Burke needs to understand that this is a business.....a cutthroat one!

Wow... that was brilliant, simply brilliant! I can't wait to hear what Burke has to say in response!
Both have some valid points... Lowe probably overpaid for Penner on that offer sheet, but Burke is wrong to say Lowe is single-handedly responsible for the state of player salaries today... I mean, it seems like all the GMs are out there throwing funny money around (except for Ken Holland, making smart moves, meaning the rich get richer... I'll stop now before my blood boils any further, me being a long-time Wings hater and all...).
It may not be mature of both guys, but reading about stuff like this sure is entertaining!!!

Yes...That is great!! Finally someone tells it as it is. Why should Burke blame sh!t on Lowe, when all Lowe is trying to do is better his team.
Burke ain't nothin' but a whiny little *****. He got lucky that Pronger cheated on his wife in Edmonton and pretty much was forced to be traded. Also Scott Niedermayer just wanted to play with his brother... that team has nothing to do with Brian Burke.
Burke whines and b!tches when anything doesn't go his way.
I remember in 2002 when the Canucks were playing the Wings in the first round... the Canucks won the first two games on the road and then lost the next four. He proceeded to ***** incessently about the reffing in the latter half of that series. Kind of like everyone does when they lose to the Wings. Burke is a *****.
What Lowe did was a shrewd move, but hey, the lifespan of most GM's in the league is too short not to make shrewd deals. Except if your name is Ken Holland.

Lowe made a stupid move on Penner, but he's not responsible for all evil in the world the way Burke is making him out to be. It was interesting at first, but now Burke just needs to grow up and accept that sh!t happens and he needs to get over the fact that a FREE AGENT got an offer sheet.

Kevin Lowe is guilty for his stupid RFA offer sheets to Vanek and Penner...The players he mentioned in his interview signed with their own team...Lowe broke the unwritten rule about making offers to other team's RFA's - and now that moron in Vancouver is doing it too...
But I'm not picking Burke's side either- he is a blow-hard....
I say their frustrations stem from an unspoken attraction to one another...

i don't think of that they'd desire to fireside him. yet I do think of he's an ***(is for asserting it in any respect) for asserting he by no potential called T.R. a fag*ot. whilst he had already appologized for it. And interior the midst of a press convention for the Golden Globes no much less. i think of he's a sturdy actor, yet whilst the chemistry on set gets incredibly undesirable then the followers nicely notice and whinge much greater, if rankings bypass down because of the fact of that they are going to maximum probable hearth him.

I think those two ought to go on Jerry Springer so we can see the chairs fly. Jerry Jerry Jerry! oh they fight more than a married couple!
oh please Burkie like you've never overpaid a player ***cough**Bertuzzi***cough*** or done anything shady hmmmm letting Teemu and Scott sit out 1/2 the season. Or,a stupid trade..Andy and Weight.
I disagree w/Lowe about Anaheim being pathetic. and how we got Scott. duh he wanted to be on the same team as Rob.Other than that..spot on.
