Fear of turning 18????

Hey I just wanted to ask you if you had had ever feared of maturity. In my counrtry once you turn 18 you are given any adulthood right. But I simply don't feel like turning 18 tomorrow at all,(if somebody was asking for my permission). It looks like from now on when I do great it won't be a success but sth normal and when I don't it will be harder getting over it.Normally I'd take sth like that as a challenge and would be looking forward to it but what's challenging when you have no other choice but behaving and doing everything the perfect way :-(((

Update:

Yesterday was an awful day(the only good thing was that Rafael Nadal won Wimbledon),as if troubles and negative thoughts were looking forward to bothering me.But today overwent all the expectations I had and turned out to be one of the best days of my life so far.You were right A.Nik it was a perfect day - celebrating with my whole family at home and than with my friends at a beach party in a lovely distant place :-)I know that my life will not change from now on,but I made two important conclusions -1)expect the unexpected because the border between depression and excitement is anything but drastic;2)the biggest challenge in life is life itself and age really is a number.Yeah,it sad that we are unable to overcome time passing so quickly but if you ever stop looking for challenges, then it does not matter how old you are because it is nort worth going on.

I will probably not become an adult from tomorrow on but I'll keep a wonderful memory and my conclusions.

Oh.. my poor Tonya... Maturity has nothing to do with birthdays and you should be the one to know that! I do not know you as a person that well but I would never say that you are either immature or that you have been childish or anything like that. My 18th birthday was one of the biggest disappointments I have ever had! I woke up the next day and nothing had changed. It's just a normal day to get together with your beloved ones and celebrate the fact that your mother and father have raised such a wonderful daughter. Believe me, no one looks on you like you are supposed to be the wisest girl in the world. People make mistakes to learn from them and if you ask me, it has nothing to do with becoming legally able to drink alcohol, work and drive. Because those are the only things that are different from no on! Before you were forbidden, now you can do whatever you want. This time if you do a crime, they'll be judging you.

Birthdays are sad days, when you get reminded that time is flying. You'll never feel like celebrating. You know... you are one of the people I admire most because you are always so ready for taking a challenge. Today you'll be scared, tomorrow you won't. I'm sure you'll take the best of it. I've got something for you... watch it, I'm sure you are one of the people who are going to admire the lessons given.

No one expects you to be perfect! Plus perfect is never fun :)) but tomorrow is going to be one perfect day! Because you are special! Have fun and please... smile :))

I do think that it's normal to be afraid of turning 18. The good lord knows that I was myself. Becoming a legal adult is a scary thing. You are now accountable for your actions although you really aren't (usually) all that much more mature than a 17 year old. Just take things one day at a time as you are going to be an adult for the rest of your life.

    Good luck!

turning 18 is a scary thing people go through anxiety of it but you shouldn t feel bad because you are maturing and becoming a young adult & the only thing is that the thing you fear is if your going to become a good or bad person in life or if your going to do good in school to go to college but just know that the fear of turning 18 is just normal and natural that everyone goes through it just know that its just anxiety and you have nothing to worry about and remember that anxiety is all in your head more or less your mind playing tricks on you so once you get it distract yourself with positive thoughts

Nobody is perfect.. ever.. you just do your best.. and set yourself goals.. and you remain true to yourself.. be yourself.. nothing will change a lot when you are 18 and yes you have some more responsibilities.. than before.. but you learn as you go... from experience.. Nobody will look down on you if you make a mistake once in a while. as long as you learn from it... we all do that.. and nobody can expect you to be perfect as perfect people don't exist... and 18 is not a big deal.. I thought it would be but it wasn't.. nor was 30 nor was 40.. one is as old as one feels .. one should always have goals for oneself.. not to please others but to achieve something in life one can be proud of.. now I am 45.. and it's just a number to me.. age is a number.. Life is what you make of it.. but better to make mistake in life than to do nothing for fear of making mistakes... xxx

The only differance is now you're not allowed to do illegal things and get away with them. :P Follow the law and you'll seriously be fine. Nothing changes when you turn 18.
