It's very humid in the mornings the lows are never below 70. The temps are hot. Usually over 90 degrees. (August and July are tied at 93 for the average high - I don't know what the previous answers are talking about with a bit cooler!) High humidity. Very little breeze and when there is it just feels like it's blowing air right out of an oven. Afternoons/Early evenings usually have heavy downpours and/or thunderstorms that have lots of lightning. Once they blow by (usually 20 - 60 minutes) the humidity gets even more dense and feels like wearing wet blanket. The average monthly rainfall just over 6 inches.
Hurricane season is nearing it's peak - lots of tropical activity in the months of August and September. Whether or not Orlando will see any is completely unknown now, but we do know a few days before usually.
It's just about the worst time of the year to be outside. It's during this time of year when Floridians spend most of their time at the beach, a pool or somewhere with AC. Not the best time for a vacation here. Mid to late October is much better.

June/July/August: H-O-T is the rule. W-E-T is another -- do bring a travel umbrella or poncho because it's a pretty sure bet that you will need one at some point. Yes, the light sweater/jacket rule still applies, but maybe not quite as much -- the heat from the outside counteracts it somewhat.
All over Florida, think cool fabrics like cotton and seersucker. Bathing suits, shorts, sundress. Expect temperatures in the upper 80's to upper 90's with humidity above 85%. Thundershowers come and go, usually pretty quickly, but the ground can quite literally steam afterwards on really hot days. Nights aren't much better, with the temperatures in the mid to upper 70's and high humidity.

In August the Normal high is 92 degrees, and the average low is 73 degrees. August is a pretty rainy month, but not as rainy as June, and July. The average amount of rain in August is 6.8 inches. Ya there is definitly a chance of hurricanes during that time of the year because that is basically the the middle of the hurrican season. Its always a hit or miss situation so there is really no way to tell when a hurricane will appear, so you basically just have to take your chances really.

HOT! My parents say the most miserable trip we ever took there was during August because of the heat (and we often went during the summer). It does rain, but bring your own ponchos (much cheaper outside of the park!) and wait out the storm - a lot of people will leave and when the storm is over quickly, then the rides are a lot less crowded! Have a magical vacation!

It's disgusting. That's actually the worst time of the year to be down here, because it's just coming up on the typical peak of hurricane season, and the temperature, as well as the mugginess, is astronomical. That's the time of year that I moved down here... talk about a crappy first impression, lol. You'll definitely want to be hitting the beaches when you're down here. Fresh ocean air will help to keep you cool.

It's hot as Hades. Some hurricane seasons are more active than others. I've lived here since 2005 and where I live we have not been directly hit by a hurricane.
