Do you suffer from EHFWS?

Extreme Hockey Fan Withdrawl Syndrome has claimed many relationships, jobs, and friendships across the country. Here are the warning signs.

1.) Do you find yourself getting irritatble when a player you desire for your team signs elsewhere?

2.) Do you check the rumor wire hourly (borderline compulsively)?

3.) Do you feel stressed when teams in your divison land big free agents?

4.) Have you resorted to watching games from the 1980's on NHL network?

5.) Has your personal life suffered as a result of this dabilitating afflication?

If you answered yes to more than 2 of these questions, please call 1-800-YOURNOTALONE.

How's your team doing in free agency? Also, on a personal note, how do you think the Rangers have done?

Update:

Joe- Yeah, Samantha's a peach, but her rates are a little high.

Homes- I will be a Lightning fan on August first when my residency offically changes lol. When do single game tickets go on sale?

    1. Yes. But I get over it quickly.

    2. Recently only the sort of reliable rumor sites. I'm getting tired of the ones full of crap.

    3. Nope. Because I know my team still has bigger stars. ;) .......Kidding, but no; not too much.

    4. Yepp. And it's driving my family nuts too.

    5. Hahaha. Maybe...........lmao. Kidding. But I haven't been doing much this summer. Just sitting around watching the NHL Network and refreshing TSN every couple of minutes to see if theres a new signing. =b

Lmao.....I think I've been suffering this ten minutes after Detroit won the cup......Can we drop the puck yet????

My team is actually doing pretty well (whether the haters admit it or not) We did lose Hossa, but forget him. Apparently he didn't want to be here and I'd rather have guys who DO than Hossa who'd rather jump on the Wings bandwagon. Good for him.

All the signings so far I'm happy with.....Satan, Fedotenko, and Cooke. I can't say too much with the Godard signing because the jury is still out on that one, lol.

The resignings are nice too. We kept the "core" together. Everyone else said it was impossible. But Malkin, Crosby, Whitney, Fleury, and Orpik (they're currently working on long term for Staal) are locked down for AT LEAST 5 years. And guess what? They all took pretty decent discounts.

    Can I complain? Hell no.

I'm a Bruins fan, so of course I suffer from all of these except for #'s 4 and 5. I get frustrated when a player I hope to get signs with another team because it happens all the time. This damn team will not do the right thing when it comes to trying to win a Stanley Cup. The reality is the ownership of this team cares only for putting money in their pockets. That's true for all owners, but at least some are actually willing to spend a good amount on the team (Red Wings).

I've given up on the rumor wire. I was looking but I don't expect to find anything on the Ruins. Besides, they already said they'll be no more deals between now and the season. What a surprise. So much for making a splash in the offseason as they said they would. We signed Michael Ryder. Wow, impressive. There's no real stress involved since I'm used to seeing division opponents get the big guys. And whats the point of watching games from the 80's, they were like the current team. The good old Ruins haven't won the Cup since 1972 and I don't expect to see one any time soon.

    LMAO.

I would say, all apply except for #1. It is nice to know that I am not alone. I was doing fine without hockey up until about 2 weeks ago...then I started getting nuts. I think everyone I know thinks I am crazy. Last week, I obtained a new client that just moved here from Quebec. I asked him if he liked hockey, and he responded, "Not so much, I watched the Original 6 when I was a kid." I proceeded to talk this guys ear off about Beliveau, Howe, Richards (both of them), and many others. After he left my office, one of my employees started joking about how my addiction to hockey is now scaring the clients away. *hangs head in shame* I know I have issues.

You know how the Bolts are doing. Either I am going to be even more embarrassed having the Lightning as my favorite team...or I am going to be a bit proud...either way I am very excited to see how the chemistry is going to work.

Rangers? I thought you were Tampa's newest fan! Nikolai Zherdev is a good pick up. I would say they are doing pretty good.

iceman: I am not sure when they go on sale. Don't worry...this is not New York. You can actually get tickets the day of the game.

I know this is an old question but I had to answer. I suffered from bipolar disorder for 5 years - so I had my share of episodes of deep depression. The whole thing started with major depression. The thing about disorders like bipolar are that they are caused by biological factors. My depression came on without warning - like I woke up one day extremely depressed and steadily got worse. There was no event that caused it. After 5 years of severe ups and downs, and a hell of a lot of work to get myself sane and stable again, my nightmare was over. I still have some episodes of depression but they are very short and not nearly as bad as they used it be

    1) uh,uh, no way, nay Bob, not a snowball's chance in hell.

    2) No sirree, negative, hardly more than once a day.

    3) Nope, glad to see them go. Bon voyage. Sia Nara.

    4) Not even looking to see what channel I need to get get it.

    5) Wife's suffering all the abuse this off-season. No stress here what-so-ever.

Thanks for asking, my team's doing great. Can't sign anybody good, doesn't even look like they're trying. My team (Leafs) should suck so bad this year that we'll have draft picks one, two, and three awarded to us before Christmas. Yup, life is good when you have no expectations and things are delivering right on schedule.

1.) Yes, when Gomez, Rafalski, and Niedermayer left. It hasn't happened this offseason yet (crossing fingers).

2.) No, but the Yahoo Hockey Section is funny :-P

3.) Yes - Grr Naslund and Redden on the Rangers

4.) No, but I have a hockey DVD I watch

    5.) Yes

Rangers have done great...Sadly. Jagr was old and lazy so I think it's good he left. He was a horrible captain too.

I think signing Rolston and Holik was really smart. They know Devils hockey, and they're going to bring veteran leadership.

    3) Not really. The Wings can still take em.

    4) Haha I was so close. But I have been watching season highlights on Youtube instead (:

    5) Actually yea...

EHFWS doesn't effect me too badly since the lockout. At least we know there will be a season next year!

    1. No

    2. Yes

    3. No

    4. I've been watching some old tapes since I don't have NHL network

    5. No

I think my Penguins have done quite well. Rangers did alright, I give them huge amounts of credit for finally throwing out Jagr.
