Who has a reason to be more angry, Native Americans or African Americans?

the reason why I'm asking is because, IMO, I feel that Native Americans have been screwed out of their land and still are being screwed over, but they say nothing about it. On the other hand people are still racist against African Americans but they are VERY angry over something that happened 160 years ago.

The reason why I'm asking this is because, I want to hear you opinion. They both have equal rights on being angry,

Europeans chose to enslave African Americans and kill and segregate Native Americans.

Give me honest opinions, no nonsense, please.

Update:

I just want reasonable objectinal answers.

Africans enslaved Africans and sold them to each other and to whites. It was their way of life.

P.S. There were white slaves too. The word slave comes from the word "slav", meaning Eastern Europeans.

P.P.S. the word "ghetto" is Yiddish (kinda Jewish) and was in use for the communities in Europe where Jews were marginalized.

As for "Native Americans", they raided, raped and murdered each other long before whites came here.

The original "Natives" were the Anasazi. They were systematically eliminated by encroaching tribes until they were completely exterminated.

We, at least, allowed the "late comers" to have reservations and treaties to permit them to maintain their tribal lifestyle.

THAT has been an abysmal failure and their societies are completely degraded.

    Their choice, NOT ours.

P.P.P.S. Want some fun? BEFORE you eat tonite (Trust me, you'll want an empty stomach!) look up the definition of the word "Carib", the tribe for which the Caribbean was named.

So, you won't look it up. They were cannibals. They ate their slaves and their enemies. Better yet, they kept female slaves to breed babies for kind of a "suckling piglet" meal that they really favored.

To finally answer, true Americans (of all colors) have the most right to be angry. "Native-Americans" and "African-Americans" and every other "Hyphenated-American" are the root evil in our society today.

    Fit in or get out.

    Enjoy dinner!!

You've asked a good question here. Me personally, I'd feel more comfortable dating a black American girl because I can identify with her American culture 10 times more than I could if she was from another country. Does this make sense? This doesn't mean I wouldn't date a girl from a foreign country. I mean, if she were from Ethiopia and had allot of American influence like the pop culture that's ever so popular here in the good ol' US of A, not to mention favors the taste of Mexican food as I so love, then she'd qualify as a potential companion. Of course I wage a good companion on so much more than just her taste in music and what's on her dinner plate. Wits and personality obviously play the center roll which determines if this beautiful, petite Ethiopian princess is the catch for me. I'm sure her competition would want to know how I was willing to compromise with her foreign values and customs. It's not easy to break from traditions that you were raised on. Well, Ethiopia,s a long ways away from here, and they don't exactly have the same laws, ethics, and well...traditions. So, I think it's safe to say that I'd feel 100% more comfortable if I just stick with a black American girl. Besides, I've dated a black American girl before, and we got along GRRRRRREAT!

When the British came to America, they took the land from the Natives. Once they settled and colonized, they got people from South America, Carribbean, and Africa. In fact, the Carribbean lands received the worst treatment as slaves, NOT africans. Plus, INDIANS WERE IN SLAVERY TOO!Thats something you wont find in your history books.

And just like Indians Africans were taken from their land. Jus like Indians, Africans were robbed of their spiritual and religious beliefs as well.

Blah blah-- Do you know the MLB Braves chant can be seen as offensive? the arm throwing the "chop", because indians were scalpted at the head by the British (in massacres)

And Blacks WERE NOT mistreating their own people.

Did Africa have slavery as well? Yes, however this is called the African Slave Trade. There are other types of slave trades that fall into different categories. The Mid Atlantic Slave Trade was the most cruel of all. African slave trade there was NO VIOLENCE allowed. Slaves (male or female) could marry into their masters families. They werent treated as subhuman or as a different class.

    KING --No honor??

That sounds like honor and respect to me.

At the end of the day, Native Americans and Blacks have a right to be upset. Not at JUST white people or the government. But their selves. We cannot change the past, but we must take responsibility of the present!!! Thats why we continue to dwell in where we are currently standing.

However, there are environmental factors that do stand in our way and makes it so much harder than other ethnicities in America. Thats a fact. Whether its our communities conditions, public education systems, corporation discrimination.. it does still happen, it was only 40 years ago when the whole "racial issue" in America was "settled". This is versus hundreds of years of unequality. So with that said, I can see why Natives or African Americans would still feel some type of way towards social injustice.

Caribbeans eating their own is unlikely. but i can see the voodoo ancestry and other same type of older religions making these sacrifices as apart of their beliefs.

I don't have the energy to walk around angry. A little blip there...slavery was over 160 yrs ago, but Jim Crow was just 40 short years ago. That is all.

Edit: I think most black folks, if you ask them, would have more of a problem with Jim Crow and segregation laws than with slavery. This has more of a direct effect on those who are still living today. I know my parents used to tell me what it was like just to walk to school every morning and have the white kids throwing rocks at them just for their amusement, having to drink from separate water fountains, not being able to exercise your right to vote, and when you try to, you get the water hose, the dogs, your house or church bombed, or worse. They also instilled in me and my siblings that you never hold anger or hate in your heart for anyone, it just keeps you down.

The Europeans were extremely accommodating to the "Native" Americans (who were actually Asians). After they were conquered, they were allowed to live freely. They weren't enslaved or anything like that. They were given lands which have a total size larger than many European countries. There are a dozen reservations larger than the state of Rhode Island. They didn't have to buy it, fight for it or anything...they were just given it. On these reservations, they have a degree of sovereignty, where they can create their own laws and aren't fully bound by the laws of the state in which the reservation exists. And there are flagrantly unConstitutional laws which exist soley for their benefit. Now they benefit from our society, our medicine, and our technology.

No conquerers in history have been so kind to the people they conquered.

The Africans were already slaves. The Europeans just bought them from other Africans.

You blacks do not outnumber us when you consider the natives who are the majority of the people in so called latin america we outnumber you by far. Most of so called latin america consists of "Mestizos" mixed natives but then most blacks in the western hemisphere are not 100% either. We do have our full bloods but the full bloods are only like 54 million if you count from every country in the americas

I'd say the natives 'coz they wer taken as slaves into their own land and was stripped of their culture, they wer converted to new religion by force, but past is past let's ol just help promote peace and quit complaining.

Why would anyone be angry over something that happened over a hundred years ago? If they are than they're idiots. You aren't supposed to get angry over things that happened in history, you are supposed to learn from them so they dont happen again. Not act like everyone owes you something because your ancestors were enslaved or because they were kicked off their land. Thats my honest opinion.

    EXCUSE ME!

I'm half African-American and half Native American. It doesn't seem to be a problem when my fullblood Indian mother talks about the trail of tears as when my African American and part indian father speaks of slavery.

White people in America diluted our numbers...black and indian so that we are the most underrepresented minorites....PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But it doesn't make sense asking a question like this. It will only pit us against on another. My family members used to sit around the table and argue about this every day until my indian side came to this conclusion :

AFRICAN-AMERICANS ARE ANGRY ABOUT SLAVERY BECAUSE LIKE THE EUROPEAN INVASION...IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Native Americans are fewer in numbers but some get way more benefits than African-Americans. Both groups were lied to, but I don't see my black family members getting reparations....and whatever happened to the 40 acres and a mule (not that the white man had the right to take from the indians and disperse as he saw fit, but it's the point of the matter).

Slavery should have never happened....and the numbers of years gone by is irrelevant and it is senseless and horrendously ignorant to even mention it. American Blacks have been screwed over just as much as Indians have if not MORE in some areas.

Economically, we're at the bottom of the totem pole. White people can sit back with their heels kicked up in good ole America while we suffer to create livings and provide ways and means for our families.

It saddens me that anyone still has this mentality of who suffered more.

I didn't want to respond to this, but as a biracial person, my anger just consumed me entirely.

But this answer is from a person on the inside of the two communities.

Source(s): half black/half indian...proud of my heritage!!!!! thumbs down for the truth....beautiful! Keep them coming!!!
