phuket OR krabi?

News alert: If it's rainy season in Phuket, it's also rainy season in Krabi...

Krabi is cheaper, not as touristy, a lot quieter, and probably the most beautiful place in Thailand....if you are looking for a lot of nightlife, you won't find that much here, it exists, but is nothing compared to Phuket..

Phuket is expensive, also very beautiful, with a lot of nightlife, a lot of tourists, and a lot of things to do.......

Both are great! I personally love Krabi, but it's up to you:)

Krabi has lovely nature, and has four national parks to enjoy. The Khao Sok is a rainforest habitat with a large variety of birds and animals, and is a popular for day trippers and campers. Than Bokkhorani features natural springs, limestone cliffs, and a lot of (real) monkey play. Pa Tung Tieo is south of Krabi and is a lowland rainforest. The last national park's name is probably longer than the park is wide: Hat Nopharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi. Forget trying to say it, just visit the beaches and beauty it encompasses. Many parts of this park are only accessible by boat, so hire a guide and sail away.

The waters of Krabi's coastline offer some excellent opportunities for deep diving or shallow snorkeling among coral reefs. Deep sea fishing may turn up sailfish, tuna, mackerel, or mahi mahi. Tour the areas many islands (some of them deserted) on a guided tour, or rent a sea kayak and head out on your own adventure. Rock climbing on Krabi's limestone cliffs draws climbers from all over.

For Krabi accommodation, I'd recommend Vogue Resort and Spa (Ao Nang) http://www.discovery-thailand.com/Krabi%20hotels.h... , it's only 45USD/night for deluxe room in July. This place is a real find. Before booking, we scoured every review we could find and were so pleased with this resort. From the air conditioned airport pickup we couldn't have been better looked after. The room was clean and had great views (we asked for a third floor, good idea). The pool is like a quiet oasis, and the staff very friendly. Breakfast was OK. The only improevment wold be some better coffee. The internet room was efficiently run, very cool, and a fast link. Having the supermarket next door was handy, and the location was perfect for the beach, the restaurants, travel agents. I would recommend this resort to people wanting a quiet, clean and comfortable place. Have a nice trip!

Phuket has more night life. Krabi is more rural
