I am amazed that an abortion can be "botched: or done so incorrectly that the baby survives - that cant be good...I dont even want to think of the trauma involved with that....BUT...it does seem a tad inhumane to birth a live ( injured ) baby & not have anyone care for it....if the mom doesnt have a change of heart why not put the kid in the ICU & then off to the adoption centers ( if the kid can recover ) .

My guess is that a botched abortion means that the kid is barely alive - maybe to close to death to bring them back to a livable existence....its a hard call.

What I know is that the current law is a compromise. What you quoted is out of context, but clearly there are many people who believe that any fertilized egg is a human with all rights given in the constitution. Others feel that only once a fetus is surviving on it's own does it gain rights. The specific area your question discusses is on the fringe and is far more complicated (in terms of law) than you make it out to be.

Hence let us accept that Obama is Pro Choice. For some that makes him un-acceptable as President.
