My son seems to be having trouble breathing, what could it be?

He's two, and is really healthy. I don't smoke, and he's not around anyone that does.

He's taking 2-3 normal breathes, then he'll inhale and hold it for about 3 or 4 seconds and then grunt as he's exhaling.

He's been doing it for a few days now. He has a little bit of a running nose, but it's not that bad.

if he has a harsh, bark like cough to go along with it then it could be the croup virus. my son has that right now.

    he might have asthma

or there might be something that prevents his trachea from opening

I think you should call his peditrician. They will tell you what to do, they know his medical history and such.
