Two supervisors at a meat packing plant were arrested.?

They were charged with encouraging people to live in the United States illegally. Dozens of fraudulent permanent-resident alien cards were seized from the plant's human resources department.

Do you think employers who condone identity theft and personal fraud should be allowed to exploit illegal aliens?

It seems to me their actions hurt ALL of us, and punishing these violations strongly shows that employers will be held accountable for their illegal actions.

I agree. They have gotten away with it for a very long time, and they intend to try and get away with it for a lot longer time. Yet they harm the illegal aliens with slip-shod rules enforcement, and I would believe that some of those places have NEVER seen an Osha Inspector.

The Employer is going to be moving the blame for hiring the illegal aliens down to the floor supervisor. But the employers have a dozen ways to know the person was an illegal alien, and that floor super did not. The Employers who allow that to happen need to wind up in the pokey for three months first time around... a year if they keep it up. Make it a Penal Farm too.. have the employers working to earn their hots and cots.

The business probably has plenty of money to pay for those penalties - no matter how hefty. Once they pay the fines, it's back to business as usual. The cycle will continue indefinetly.

There's another bus full of illegals waiting to replace the workers that have been removed - many of which will return again anyway.

No, they (employers) shouldn't be "allowed" - but who's stopping them? These "raids" are only a minor interruption in their production. Meanwhile, we're sitting here believing something's really being done to resolve the issue.

I'm not the least bit impressed with the "efforts".

Estielmo ... I have to totally agree. America cannot serve as a haven for everyone who dares to barge in and try to stay here.

Moreover, consider that illegal aliens have not been screened for serious, communicable diseases. How many have arrest records in their homeland, I wonder? These people would normally not be admitted and I don't know anyone who'd be glad to have a criminal as their neighbor.

The right choice is clear. The illegals should be returned to their homeland, the anchor baby concept should be legislated off the books, and repeat offenders should be jailed.

As for employers, they're perhaps MORE guilty than those who'd try to enter the U.S. illegally. Yes, jail time for them too.

Thanks, Estielmo, for a fair and intelligently-worded question.

I do not condone employers who fraudulently hire illegal aliens and provide them with fraudulent papers, or withhold legal documentation.

They should be heavily fined and imprisoned for engaging in slave labor practices and felonious, fraudulent activity.

I think these people and their companies should face hefty fines, prison time and possible shutting of business for their violations. No lawyer or lobbyist should be able to bail them out, do the crime, do the time! Report and Deport!!

I think they should be harshly dealt with and the owners should lose their businesses!! They should be jailed, heavily fined etc....

I think they should serve jail time and be stripped of their business.
