I just found out I was getting money?

I just found out that after 7yrs of pain I'm getting money for alll the pain that I'm going through with my knee I have OA and it's painful. I was on Vioxx for a while but I got off because it was making me depressed and I was having mood swings. And now that I'm getting this money everyone is all up in y face like they know me, but I didn't have any money they didn't know me but as soon as they found out I was getting paid. They wanted to come around and be my friend what should I do?

Update:

I told only my sister and she told everyone else. I have been keeping a low profile about it all. I guess I shouldn't have told her because she told everyone else. I like to keep it love key and I have plans to go back in to shcool for my Master in Business Management and a Mionr in child Psy.

    Put the money back to help you in your life later. Do not buy things you normally would not buy. Act normal. When they discover you are not goign to give them stuff or money, they will back off if they are not your real friends. Your real friends will not treat you any different. Do not brag about it or flaunt it. It attracts people like this.

    maybe they are in your face because they have something to talk to you about, why do you think they are talking to you because you have money?

    something happened, they heard the news and just are probably curious, maybe they are even happy for you!

    are you a social person by nature, do you go out of your way to make friends and hang out with them or do you keep to yourself?

    Tell them you got $300.00 back and want to take them out for pizza! They'll cool off.
