I am a recent widow & was told that my state AZ is a Community Property state.?

What does this mean & what should it mean to me?

    It means that any assets or any debt acquired during the marriage is wholly owned or owed equally by both you and your spouse.

    Gifts and/or inheritance during the marriage specifically to one spouse and property owned by one spouse before marriage is not community property.

    Your husband's estate only includes half of the community property (plus any gifts, inheritances, or property he owned before your marriage). The other half of the community property is yours.

    It's means that everything he owned, you also own.
