Is it just me is Derek Chauvin defense lawyer doing a great job along with the prosecution at making him appear guilty?

    I think it's part of his master plan to set up an appeal on the basis of "Inadequate Defense."  He could even go so far as to get Chauvin a mistrial on the same basis.

    Courtrooms aren't like politics.  If this was political, if Chauvin were being 'tried in the press', his lawyer could simply deny everything he did, he could say all the accusations were politically-motivated lies.  But in a courtroom he can't do that.  He clearly can't pretend it never happened because there are witnesses and videotape.  So he has to admit it happened, but suggest it wasn't what you think, it wasn't as bad as it looked.  That's not a fun job for a lawyer.
