Take an antihistamine - non drowsy like claritin - to see if it's being triggered by allergies. Use a cortizone cream 10% on it.

I had bad eczema and dermatitis for years too. I tried every cortisone cream etc, nothing seems to work. I haven't heard of a pill to treat eczema. You need to find the cause of it, a lot of the time its caused by an allergy. You can get an allergy test done. It turned out I was allergic to lots of different grasses, especially when they are seeding, which is a bit difficult to avoid seeing we are surrounded by grass. I know this doesn't help much but I kinda grew out of it but it took 25 years. I get a little bit now and then on my hands. I use tea tree oil, its seems to work the best out of everything I have tried. Dont let it get you down, lots of people have it. Try not to scratch it, I know its hard but you know what happens if you scratch. This will sound nuts but if you have broken the skin scratching and you just cant stop, put a little salt on it, it stings like anything but atleast it stops itching and you dont end up with a mess.

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.
Best Eczema Treatment?

Eczema is a type of dermatitis caused by aging, dry skin or by skin irritants. There is no prescription medication for this disorder, but here's how I have treated mine:
1) Avoid washing your hands too often, using sanitary gets, or excessive bathing.
2) Make frequent use of moisterizing hand creams. I use the St. Ives brand.
3) If you have itching, use a 1% hydrocortisone cream once or twice a day, but avoid excessive or prolonged use as it can worsen your condition if overused.
4) If your eczema is also on your body, switch your laundry detergent to a mild one like Dreft and avoid bleaches and fabric softeners.

I have this skin condition too. It frustrates me sometimes.
I used to have it really bad as a child, but as I have gotten older, I have had less breakouts.
I have allergy medications and ointments prescribed by my doctor. The doctor gave me a topical 'clobetasol proprionate soluton' . Skin moisturizers are also good. I usually go with a Cetaphil brand moisturizer. It can be a bit pricey, but it doesn't irritate my skin and I like how it absorbs. I also use Dove Sensitive Skin Body Wash.
I try not to use 1% Hydrocortisone cream a lot. It has a tendency to retain water - making skin puffy.
Also try to keep a healthy diet. I also realize that when I am in huge stress, the eczema can start to flare up. Just try to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle.

I used to have eczema when I was little...it hurt so bad and it itched so bad. My mom put some kind of foreign drug that actually got rid of it...but the doctor told her to stop because she didn't go to med school.
He said it would come back.
Anyways it did come back but probably because I stoppedusing the smuggled cream.
So I started using this lotion that I loved bc of the smell. I used it all the time every day. I stayed off the carpet (bc it made me itchy and the ground is dirty) and eventually it went away.
I suggest you try getting a lotion you love and the lowered stress (aromatherapy maybe?) will probably help calm it down.

Talk to a dermatologist.
Also diet plays a role in eczema.Look online for details about eczema and nutrition.
But a dermatologist will really be able to fill you in on treatment options available and a possible pill.

first of all, the use of an all natural skin care moisturizer will be very helpful. have a talk with a skin care expert about recommended products. if you want to avoid skin from scarring better try to avoid scratching the skin for a break in the skin can cause secondary skin infections. stop eczema itching by getting the skin moisturized. and you better keep fingernails short for you might forget sometimes that you have accidentally scratch it. remember that a break in the skin can cause a secondary infection.
try also avoiding a lot of things that can trigger eczema like:
- avoid perfumed skin care and body care products
- avoid extreme hot and cold weather conditions
- avoid keeping fingernails long
- avoid scratching the affected area
- avoid long baths
- avoid processed foods and foods with preservatives
- avoid skin irritants and allergens like dusts and pollens
- avoid clothes and material that are rough, course, scratchy and tight
- avoid activities that can make you sweat
- avoid smoking and alcohol
try to be gentle with your skin. visit http://www.skinoriginal.com/ for more tips on how to rejuvenate skin.

Try the prescription cream called "ApexiCon". I have had eczema for years and this is the only thing that cured it.
Also, take cod liver oil supplements
Good luck - I know how annoying it is
