When did Shell supply for the first time the MotoGP class with V-Power fuel?

I really need this answer fast! I tried looking in the shell.com but there wasn't a year written so I'm kind of lost and I really, really need this answer!

Update:

thanks Proc... the thing is that I don't have much time to research it at all. It is for a eurosport game and it is the 3rd question. If you guess all 5, you have the chance of winning a ticket to Valencia... so I'll just have to watch and hope the Bulgarian eurosport guys will say the answer eventually :))

    Hi A. Nik

It was at the same time and in partnership with Ducati Corse. So the answer is at the start of the 2003 season.

Hope that helps. Good luck with the competition, and enjoy the race tomorrow.

Hi A.Nik, I cant answer your question, the best I can find is V power shell was launched 13 may 03. But this does not help, even if you look at 95 octane fuels it goes back further.

I think you have picked a hard subject to research. but im sure you will find it eventually

    Good luck

    Edit. Found this

Well found Mr Proc. Good work Sir.

I know Shell got involved big time in Grand Prix ( 500cc days ) in about 1993 with Shaun Emment and then John Reynolds on the Harris [ Roc ] Yamaha's but they never set the world alight, as the were the first team to be running unleaded fuel, rather then the full fat / full lead based rocket fuel of all the other teams.

Gary McCoy picked up an early 500 V Twin in 98 but crashed and broke his leg. He was not heard of again untill Peter Clifford off WCM got him back to parter John Hopkins on the YZR Red Bull 500. He is an early pic of the Shell sponsor:
