Why is global warming now an issue of race?
House Majority Whip: Climate Change Hurts Blacks More
Clyburn says African-Americans 'disproportionately impacted'; study recommends 'fee, tax or allowance auction on polluters.'
Climate change is no longer just an environmental issue. It’s now an issue of race, according to global warming activists and policy makers.
“It is critical our community be an integral and active part of the debate because African-Americans are disproportionately impacted by the effects of climate change economically, socially and through our health and well-being,” House Majority Whip James Clyburn, D-S.C., said July 29.

Every issue from here on will be about race because they are pushing the if you don't support Sen Obama then you are a racist thing to get people to vote for him abased on not having a guilty conscience. The things they are talking about is the costs of fighting global warming does effect poor people more which is a very true fact since ten dollars to me is less important then the same amount from extremely poor person. Most poor people happen to be white but if they make it sounds like the fees are guided costs which home in on color targeting black people then it all becomes abut race. We live in an integrated society so why it would effect blacks socially, health wise, or well-being more is beyond me unless the health is because we don;t have universal health care. The constant it is biased against blacks or this is a race issue is just trying to make people vote for Sen Obama because he is black and still working on the people who don;t are basing their vote on race. It is becoming more and more evident that the racist voting based on color are much more numerous in the people supporting Sen Obama then supporting Sen McCain but that will never be called racists because it is blacks voting for a black because he is black.

Man made global warming was always a political issue as the scientific evidence is weak and contradictory. The high priests of the official mythology have no credible science to offer so they invent a race issue to try and steamroller us into accepting their dogma

A higher percentage of blacks can't swim. Global warming is not a correct term, global climate change is and Ben Franklin was the first to recognize that to my knowledge.

Sorry to say I am ashamed of some these people they are surrogates of the democratic party using victimhood as the tool to futher their political careers.
On the lighter side shouldn't global warming benefits blacks since our ancestors came from a hotter climate?

I think the environment and global warming IS a real issue. However, I think its a "rich mans" issue. I see it more about class structure than race.
Being "green" is not important when you are struggling to pay your bills. Composting and recycling isn't top on priority list.
Only upper middle class or rich people can afford solar panels and Hybrid cars.
I think the article has valid points, it IS a trickle down effect. However, I think to say its a race issue is too narrow.

I think Clyburn is an idiot. Critical thinking is obviously not his strong point. To even suggest that Global Warming can impact one race over another is absolutely ridiculous. Some how the sun knows your race and is going to be prejudice when it bakes you.

His statement doesnt make much sense to me..
Now if he had said global warming taxation would impact the poor more.. that I would believe.

Sounds like it came from one of the Rev. Wright's sermons.

Are you really surprised? Blacks will make any issue a race issue. They are excellent at victimizing themselves. What's even worse is that the white liberals are probably eating it up and giving in to this crap!
