OMG I just heard Harley Davidson is going to buy MV Agusta the best motorcycle brand in the world :(

What a crock, why is Harley doing that, how can the Italians let them meddle with their works of art, that's be like if Ford bought Ferrari god forbid. Nothing out of America ever compared to anything in Italy.
Just when I switched from Ducati to MV Agusta this happens! :(
The only comfort I have is that at least the F4 has 190hp and 195mph.
Plastic is for Japanese bikes. They're carbon fiber.
Oh well, at least one thing Harley owners and MV Agusta owners have in common is that they're both owned usually by men instead of wee widdo boys.

Actually, Ford owns Jaguar, and so what if HD bought some Italian Co.? Maybe some of you didn't notice, but every company in the USA is laying off.

HD is investing in everything that has a potential of a good return in the future. Why? Because the "Motor Company" sold out. Credit where credit is due. The marketing department did a spectacular job of selling the bike to men and women looking to regain their youth. The company has flooded the U.S.market with garage queens. The value of the bike/brand has fallen. They have layed off employees at their plants and have a surplus of bikes to sell. The Motor Company have licensed the ever familiar logo(s) to companies that sell everything from teddy bears to HD beef jerky! Doubt me? Visit your local HD Boutique. Just opened a Harley "resort" somewhere in SLC, Utah. What ever happened to riding and not posing?

so what? that's like not buying an Audi (or Lamborghini or Bugatti or Bentley) because it's owned by Volkswagen. just because it's owned by somebody else doesn't automatically mean that it's quality, it's unique style, or anything else, will drop off. it just means that HD saved the company from going under completely
and by the way, Ferrari is owned by Fiat

Why are you so upset that a highly profitable AMERICAN company bought a sinking italian company? Pretty soon the imported plastic pony riders will be crying in thier sake!

I think HD needs to start worrying about themselves, I live near York HD plant and they are currently having layoffs. Who knows maybe HD will learn how to make a real V-Twin motor.
