Is this hotel any good?.
On my first trip to Bangkok I stayed at the Dusit Princess Srinakarin hotel, it was very nice & it was beside the Seacon Square.
Anyone know about this hotel below?. Is it in the Bangna district (near Dusit Princess)?. I know it probably won't be as splashy as the Dusit Princess but as long as its close by and near a shopping mall, that would be OK.

Avana Hotel Bangkok
23/1 Moo 12 Soi 14/1 Bangna-Trad Road Km.2 Bangna Bangkok 10260
Well, I have to stay close to the Bangna area because of work. The last time, my company booked me at the Dusit Princess & yes it was really boring.

I have no personal knowledge of this hotel, however reading the location info shows that the hotel is closer to the airport than the more popular tourist areas of Bangkok.
Location info from their webpage.
"Located on Bangna-Trad, the Avana Hotel Bangkok is placed close to the Suvarnabhumi International Airport and has easy access to shopping malls like Central Bangna Department Store and Seri Center and BITEC Convention Center."
If you want to be closer to the airport then this may be okay. But, if you want to shop and visit stuff in Bangkok then get a place closer to the Siam or Sukhumvit area.
Maybe the Swiss Park Hotel will do, it is close to the Nana Skytrain stop and the price is abut the same. Having a hotel near the Skytrain makes it easy to get around town. The Swiss Park is near travel agencies for tours, malls, restaurants and supermarkets.

Just a suggestion.
Later.
Since you have added a little more information, like it's not a holiday and you need that area for business - go with the hotel that is the most expensive, probably the Dusit Princess. You can always head over to Sukhumvit Road and take a taxi or bus into some areas less boring!

Exactly why do you like staying out near Seacon Square? The only thing there worth seeing is the King's Park and there are better malls than Seacon Square in Bangkok. There's nothing out there for tourists and it's far away from a lot of things you may want to do in Bangkok. If you like it it's fine, I guess. I suggest searching here and find something more in the center of the city. You can still get great deals:
