Why haven't Obama and McCain chosen running mates?

IDK but it is really getting on my nerves.

Well, in days of old, they would have only been on the campaign trail for 3 months, while they spend the rest of their time doing what the people elected them to do.

Running mates are usually announced at the conventions.

McCain has the upper hand in this because you must announce your VP at the convention and the Republicans go last thus getting the upper hand and you will see right after Obama names his "safe" "white male" VP choice McCain will announce his of one more likely to be a minority like Louisiana's Governor Jindal or from one from a battleground blue state in hopes of a scoring that state just like Obama will try to score a state like Virginia or Indiana.

Obama and McCain are very careful in choosing their running mates in order to get more votes. This is the reason why they are not choosing their partners up to this time.
