Do you think that the inability to choose a vice president shows a trait of indecisiveness in both candidates?

No. Traditionally, the VP choice has been announced at the convention. I don't know why the candidates are being urged to make their announcements early this time. But I sense the pressure is coming mostly from the media.

Actually, both parties have pretty much agreed that the delaying of a choice of Vice President is mainly so there will be SOMETHING to watch at the conventions. Everyone knows that the party platforms go right out the window even before the ink dries, and what else is there to watch the convention for? The amount of people who watch every four years has gone down so badly that the networks will only cover the candidates' acceptance speeches and the only people who will cover it is C-SPAN.

No, I think it shows intelligence and the ability to create and deploy a strategy.

McCain won't announce until after Obama does, because Obama will need to announce by the date of the Democratic National Convention at the end of the month. The Republican Convention isn't until September, so McCain will most likely make a final decision after Obama's announcement, in an effort to upstage Obama. Obama is waiting for as long as possible, to make it more difficult for McCain to upstage him.

  • I think McCaine is waiting to see who Obama picks. I think he has a couple people in mind. He would like to ask Romney, but he knows that will kill the conservative vote. I like Bobby Jindal, Gov. out of Louisianna.

Obama will announce at the DNC. Which is not late, but pretty normal. He should go with Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico, or Gov. Ed Rendell out of Pennsylvania.

Neither one of them can make a VP selection at this time because they aren't the official party candidate at this point in time! Although John McCain would come closest to taking that position!

Typically candidiates don't announce a running mate until right before the conventions. This gives them enough time to "test the waters" and see who would provid ethem the most assiatnce in winning the presidency.

Not at all. It's all about timing.

I wouldn't be surprised if McCain is waiting for the Democratic National Convention to be on to steal some thunder way from the event.

No. It has been the same way in all presidential elections that I can remember, except when the incumbent is one of the candidates.

Obama hasn't even been elected as candidate for the Democratic party yet, so I think you're jumping the gun. Why would he pick someone yet when he doesn't even have the party support?

They are not being indecisive. They have till the convention. Hold your horses.
