B movie from the 70s

Anyone familiar with this film?

A black car terrorizes a town by running people over. Turns out the devil is driving. Bullets and fences can't stop it but it cannot drive on sacred grounds. The people end up destroying it by blowing it up and you can hear the devil scream in the fireball.

Can anyone tell me the name of this film?

I agree with the first poster: "The Car" (1977).

    Moviefone synopsis:

A murderous car wreaks havoc on a small Western town in this thriller that has gone on to achieve a small degree of cult status. After a pair of bikers and a horn-playing hitchhiker are viciously mowed down, local police realize they have a motoring maniac on their hands. In a show of boldness, the mysterious black automobile kills the sheriff (John Marley) on the town's main street, leaving the post to Officer Wade Parent (James Brolin). A supernatural element enters the picture when the car motors through a parade practice but refuses to enter the hallowed ground of a cemetery. The cops chase the car through the desert, but it takes out several squad cars and disappears after injuring Wade. Things take a personal turn when the car eliminates Wade's girlfriend Lauren (Kathleen Lloyd) in a shocking sequence. Gathering his remaining officers, Wade concocts a plan to stop the horsepower-laden psychopath.

Here's some enjoyable trivia from IMDb:

Six cars were built for filming by Barris Kustoms in North Hollywood, California~one main car of steel and five fiberglass replicas. Three replicas were destroyed in the climactic explosion scene, and the other two replicas were wrecked in rollovers. The gloss-black main car is a custom Lincoln Mark III with a locked 4.11 differential (to allow easier spinning), a 460 cubic-inch V8 engine, heavy-duty suspension, roll bar, safety harness, and amber-tinted glass. The top is lowered and the beltline raised. Twelve craftsmen built the main car in six weeks. Cost was $84,000.

This film is listed among The 100 Most Enjoyably Bad Movies Ever Made in Golden Raspberry Award founder John Wilson's book "The Official Razzie Movie Guide".

After "Duel", people had a fascination for unstoppable vehicles that obviously is still with us. I'd have to look into it, but that TV movie, which later was released to theaters, might be the seminal relentless mechanical device. I have no doubt that Stephen King was inspired, as were the creators of "The Car".

By the way, the question most people had about this film was: How did they keep it clean?! I suppose that's where the multiple cars came into play.
