Is the KFC veggie-chicken burger vegan?
KFC now has a vegetarian mock chicken burger in Canada, is it also egg, dairy, etc. free too?
I think Pamela Anderson is a vegan, and she was eating one for publicity the other day. I'd like to try one, but only if it's vegan. The allergy information sheet on their products page on the KFC website has not been updated to include the veggie burger yet (last updated 2007 it says). Any word on this?
Peta and Pam Anderson have been pestering KFC for years, and KFC made a deal with Peta, to stop the pestering. That is why they have offered this veggie chicken burger. So, the work that Peta does, actually works and gets the message across. So, Pam went to KFC in Vancouver BC to chow down on a veggie chicken burger to celebrate their truce.
That's a good question about cross contamination. I'd like to confirm that too, to see if they have separate grilling station/area etc.

Yes, the new KFC burger in Canada is vegan. The bun is also vegan, but you have to ask for it without mayo. Here is a buy 1 get 1 free coupon too, if you are interested: http://www.peta2.com/TAKECHARGE/pdf/KFC_Coupon08_E...

I don't think it really matters that KFC or any other place has vegetarian/vegan options, its not like they have a seperate grill for the veg options, so in essence you are still eating the meat. That is why I refuse to eat fast food (except Subway because they are very clean). I still wouldn't eat there.

I haven't heard about the Pam Anderson eating KFC ad. I'm surprised to hear that she'd do anything with KFC, given that she was so outspoken about their treatment of chickens. Does anyone have the link to that? Wonders never cease, eh?

I've never seen an analog product that looked like dead flesh. Sausages and burgers are just shapes. I don't eat meat substitutes often because I avoid processed food, but in a lot of restaurants it's the only vegetarian option.

KFC may state the burger is vegan, but this vegan wouldn't touch one with a barge pole.
Eating anything from KFC just doesn't make vegan sense.

wow, they have veggie chicken burgers at KFC? The ingredients may be vegan, but I would check with the restaurant to make sure they have a seperate grill and utensils so that you don't get meat drizzles on your delish vegan fare.

Well I heard that KFC is frying the tofu in the same grill that it fries the chicken, so real vegans would not eat that shizz.

They might have veggie patties... but I don't eat there anymore. Sorry I didn't really answer your question, but go to www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com. Watch the video... it's about Kfc's slaughter houses =/

If you're a vegan then shouldn't you just stay away from Kentucky Fried Chicken in the first place? You can't eat meat, so why go to a place that fries millions of dead chicken bodies in baby fat everyday just because they have a mock chicken sandwich. Why torture yourself by going in there?

Maybe without the mayo it is vegan.
Isn't it ironic that other traditional vegetarian and vegan companies now have KFC as a competitor for vegetarian money. Now vegetarians may be spending money on a company that continues to practises what they object to. And again another sellout by hypocrite PETA.
