I'm pregnant, is this spotting normal?

I'm about six weeks pregnant and I started spotting last monday. I thought it was normal because it was about the time I should have been on my period and I didn't have any cramps. But now i'm still spotting but its not red, its more like a brown discharge, but still no cramps. Is this normal or should I be worried.

Sorry to say but yes. Call your doctor for appointment as soon as you can. Spotting could be nothing but could be signs of m/c too. So see a doctor a.s.a.p

If it is brown then that means that it is old blood. Spotting isn't supposed to happen during pregnancy, but no worries--because it is common in early pregnancy. I spotted around 7 weeks, and again around 9 weeks..and everything is just fine at 20 weeks!! But, call your doctor, and ask them about it, and maybe make an appointment to get checked. And, it could definitely be a possibility that it was just your body trying to have a period since that would be it's normal schedule, but then realized that it couldn't!

Many people will say don't worry if it's brown blood however, I had brown blood and it turned out to be one of the signs of a molar pregnancy. If I were you I would go and get it thoroughly checked with a doctor to be absolutely safe.

Here's to a happy healthy pregnancy!

i wouldn't necessarily be worried because some spotting can be normal but i would still head to the doctor for a bit of reassurance.

  • It shouldnt be a brownish color, usually clear or white. Since you have no cramps, I wouldnt be too worried, but definitely tell your doctor.

I would just check with your doctor. Many women do spot during pregnancy but it would be best to be checked out.

Sounds like a spontaneous abortion to me. You should call your doctor, s/he might suggest an ultra sound.
