Was Christ's sacrifice necessary?

Everyone says that the ONLY way to get into heaven is with the blood of the perfect sacrifice [Christ]. Yet the Bible also has provisions for those who have never heard of Christ. Those people are judged individually, by their lives, and ACTS.

In then, we have an example of a person who can technically get into heaven WITHOUT being washed in the blood of Christ and what not.

SO why can't we ALL get into heaven without being washed in the blood of Christ, by acts alone? Usually people say you can't because sin cannot enter heaven...but those imperfect people who have not heard of Christ somehow get cleansed without believing in Christ. Why can't us atheists get cleansed that way too?

Update:

There's one example.

Just google "what happens about people who haven't heard about Christ." Thousands of links pop up, most of them saying "no, they don't all go to hell" and then giving various theological reasons as to why.

Christ is the word of God. As long as you obey the word you follow Christ. Those who don't believe that the word of God along is suficient will continue to do rituals thinking it cleanse them from sin. It was necessary for Jesus, not Christ, to die for those who could not accept that the word of God could save them.

because if you don't believe in Christ why would you want to be in heaven in a place where everyone is going to be worshiping Him forever?

The only way to get into Heaven is to realize that you are a sinner and that without God you're destined for Hell. And then ask Christ to come into your heart and take over your life.

Being a Christian doesn't mean that you won't make mistakes though. Most people make fun of us Christians when we make mistakes, but we are still humans who were born with a sin nature. But thankfully God is a gracious and merciful God who give a multitude of second chances.

I hope that you reconsider your view on God because I feel that the end is insanely near!

I hope this helped you out a bit.

You say "us athiests" then you mention being cleansed to get into heaven?

How can someone not be washed in the blood of christ and still get into heaven? you have no source.

Back to the title of this question.

Was it necessary? Even though people somehow go to heaven even though they are not washed in the blood of christ?

Jesus died for our sins. Was it neceassary? No. Why? Cause the CHUMP AIN'T REAL

No one but no one gets into Heaven without the cleansing blood of Christ!

No one but no one can fulfill the law that is the requirement to enter Heaven without the sacrifice of Christ.

All have sined and come short of the Glory of God.

The Bible says that all peoples will have the chance to choose God or not before Jesus comes back. Missionaries are in all countries now. That is nearly complete. Billy Graham even went into Russia during the cold war. That was a miracle of God. Millions were saved. The only ones I know of that will go to Heaven without being washed in the blood are babies, children who have not reached the age of accountability and adults that will never reach the age of accountability due to mental disabilities.

If God is omnipotent, then he can choose ANY means of salvation he chooses.

Since it is his choice and in his power to make that choice, then technically, no, that sacrifice was unnecessary.

In principle, God could just decide to forgive all sins as they happen without penalty, or he could refuse to save at all. He could require all we do is bake a cake once a year with "The Cake Is A Lie" written on it as sacrifice enough.

If God is omnipotent, then no, blood sacrifice is not required -- it was chosen. Such a choice would render God to be an immoral sadist unworthy of worship.

No matter how Christians try to spin it, they're just morally screwed.

(Ignoring, for the moment, that God doesn't actually exist...)

Because God is fair, he will judge each person according to the light he/she has received. If some tribe people never had the "light" to know that Christ died for them, I assume that God will be fair to those people (this is my assumption based on what I know about God's character that the Bible describes). However, it is not up to me to figure out how God will do this. I have to worry about the light that I have and that I will be judged based on it. So, this also applies to atheists...you have plenty of light around you to know that Jesus died for you. If you still choose to reject it, then God can't force you to be cleansed.

all I'm going to say is, jesus himself asked that very question in the garden at gethseeme ( sp) he said if its possible let this cup pass by me without me taking a drink ( in so many words, not a direct quote). in a prayer to god the father. also to the other answerer who said he should have been punished like ted bundy or any other crimminal, jesus was the one who was innocent of any crime remember pontius pilot ( again spelling) said so himself to the crowd asking a crowd to chose between a man who is innocent and one who is trully guilty. also while on the cross the thief defended jesus saying we are guilty but this man is innocent jesus take me with you when you go into your kingdom,. so apparently yes he had to die, he was the sacrifical lamb. the jews would alway sacrifice a lamb to god and place the blood of that lamb on their door. well jesus was that lamb once and for always.

This begs the question... What "provisions" does the Bible have? I doubt you can cite any, so you probably shouldn't post a statement like that, it weakens the point you are trying to make. You cannot attain heaven by "acts" and good works. The Bible makes no discrepency about that..

ALL have heard of the Truth and of Christ

for it is indeed written :

""For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:""

    Romans 1:20
