Does Obama want to serve our country and all of us in it, or his own interests, or the interests of others?

Quoted from Barak Obama's book:

From Audacity of Hope:

'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'

Quoted from Barak Obama's book:

From Dreams of My Father:

'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'

Update:

obama voted yes to fund the war in iraq, and has also said he wants to bomb pakistan. when coupled with the fact that a DEMOCRAT led us into every war before iraq since WW I, then anyone who believes that obama will bring our troops home is letting themselves be fooled by obama.

when it comes right down to it, you will see no "change" whether you vote for obama or mccain. but at least mccain won't raise taxes as much as would obama. and mccain loves his country. do you think obama really does?

Update 3:

p.s. i would love to see a black president, if he or she was the best choice. but actually obama is only one-quarter black, since his mother is white, and his father was half arab [caucasian].

most folk don't realize it, but abraham lincoln was half black, and five other presidents were partly black as well.

see: http://affiliate.kickapps.com/kickapps/_The-Six-Bl...

obama just happens to be the most "black" looking. so he plays that card to his utmost political advantage [the race card].

my opinion is that he seeks first and foremost to serve his own political interests, while also serving the interests of "big government" and the "New World Order" agenda folks.

I begin to wonder about that. He is a relative new comer to politics. His waffling on the issues make him appear to be in it for his own interests if only to be elected the first black president. I have little confidence in him as a leader. I would have loved to see Colin Powell as president. I believe John McCain has the maturity and experience to be a good president and leader. Obama's past leaves some doubt as to what his actual motives are. He is enjoying his celeberty status and love affair with the media. I don't think it will be enough to get him elected.

I've never read his book and I'm leary of single sentence quotes because without the context they can mean whatever you want to spin them to be. If you had asked this question 8 years ago about Bush probably no one would have gotten it right because he skillfully concealed what his true agenda was. As for Obama, I have way more confidence in him than the old guy that openly admitted he didn't know much about economics and who's words have proved that he is lacking in understanding of foreign policy and even geography.

He's in it for his own and himself to press for justice for the Black race.

His religion is based on African liberation.. I don't know about you but not all of my generation was raised racist, and the opportunity that can be had is a reality for those who strive for it...Is it perfect? No, but it has come a long way!

I wish people would look at these quotes and think hard about what they really mean along with his policies and really think about what his "Change" really means for this great country..

I will never vote for a Black President.

I will never vote for a White President.

I will never vote for a Female President.

I will never vote for a Male President.

I will vote for a President who happens to be black, white, female, or male.

    There is a BIG difference.

If all things were equal, I'd lean toward voting for the President who happened to be female or black or non-white/male.

Wouldn't you? We dream of equality, we fight more than any nation in the world for equality.

Other countries just accept the way things are, for the most part. Try running for office in Japan if you aren't Japanese!

An opposition answer to your question

Romney closed American factories -put Americans out of work -then re-invested in Iran. Yahoo news

Both McCain and Bush have money ties to the middle east .

Obama wants peace in the middle east -and so do I .

    Iraq -blood for Haliburton

He focuses on people and the country. He is smart enough to know that serving both will eventually translate into serving his own interests. Probably no different than most of us, I'd say. For me, I know that when I work for the people and for the country, that will be met with positive feedback which eventually translates into positive things for me personally. Some call it karma, some call it ultimately self-serving or selfish, I think it's really just the natural loop of doing the right thing.

I don't think these quotes prove anything, but it is clear to me that Obama is a very ambitious fellow who is not above demagoguery in his pursuit of power.

McFriend....link? That was the question from Roger Mudd that sunk Teddy Kennedy's White House bid.

    Forget about Muslims.

Obama is a politician. As a politician, he is out to serve his own interest. That's what politicians do. Politics = big business.

I'd never chose people to emulate just because they happened to be the same color. I choose people whom have inspired me and achieved great results in spite of the circumstances.

It's a shame Obama picks hero's based on skin color. A true racist.
