In Genesis (Joseph's dream in Genesis 37:1-10) , Jacob clearly understood that he was the sun, his wife was the moon, and his twelve children were the stars. This is the root of the nation of Israel. In Revelation, these symbols are used for two reasons. One is to signify the root of the woman portrayed there, that she is Israelitish: sun, moon, stars?Jacob, Rachel, and the twelve sons.

    PS : Shalom to you.

To add to what Party's comment said, we see that the number 12 is commonly associated with organizational arrangements, ie

    12 tribes of fleshly Israel

    12 apostles

    12 tribe of spiritual Israel

12 gates, 12 angels, and 12 foundation stones of New Jerusalem

    *** re chap. 27 p. 178 par. 5 God’s Kingdom Is Born! ***

5 Exactly what, though, is Jerusalem above? Since Paul spoke of her as “above,” and John sees her in heaven, she is clearly not an earthly city; neither is she the same as “New Jerusalem,” since that organization is the bride of Christ, not Jehovah’s wife. (Revelation 21:2) Notice that she is crowned with 12 stars. The number 12 is associated with completeness in an organizational setting. Hence, these 12 stars seem to indicate that she is an organizational arrangement in heaven, just as ancient Jerusalem was on earth. Jerusalem above is Jehovah’s universal organization of spirit creatures that acts as his wife, both in serving him and in producing offspring.

No the 12 sons of Jacob (Old Testatment) The are referred to the 12 Tribes.

Edit~ those thumbing us all down, don't understand the Bible

Also, Isabella give book, chapter, and verse where it says "Mary is Queen of Heaven"

"12:1-2 explanatory prophecies that describe some of the major personages and movements of the latter half of the Tribulation period. The woman represents Israel, and her child is Christ, the Messiah . The woman is not the church, since the church did not bring forth Christ, but rather He brought forth the church. Her identification as the persecuted Jewish saints clearly proves that the church is not under her feet alludes to God's promise of dominion, and the crown of twelve stars pictures royalty and relates to the 12 tribes of Israel. The birth pains refer to the period before the birth of Christ when Israel was waiting for redemption by the Messiah."

Robert: sorry that is not Mary who is the king's wife. The BRIDE is the church. Give book, chapter, and verse that says Mary the mother of Jesus is the queen and is now in heaven? Your view is taken by the Catholic and Orthodox church twist on scripture.

Remember, to study to show YOURSELF approved.

Where is the word 'bible' in the scriptures? It's just the name of the collected books. Where in the scripture is the word Catholic? Rapture is the English word ... it means caught up.

Mary is not the one who SAVES us. She is only to be respected not worshiped and place on the same level as the Godhead. Even Jesus said; who is my mother?

    Source(s): The Bible also read Rev 12:5; Is 7:14; 9:6; 66:7-8; Mic 5:2; and Rom 9:4-5 also Rom 8:22-23

    Yes

and the 12 tribes of Israel

    Rapture Ready:

Correction, Mary is the Queen of Heaven

Psalm 45:9 - the psalmist teaches that the Queen stands at the right hand of God. The role of the Queen is important in God's kingdom. Mary the Queen of heaven is at the right hand of the Son of God.

1 Kings 2:17, 20 - in the Old Testament Davidic kingdom, the King does not refuse his mother. Jesus is the new Davidic King, and He does not refuse the requests of his mother Mary, the Queen.

1 Kings 2:18 - in the Old Testament Davidic kingdom, the Queen intercedes on behalf of the King's followers. She is the Queen Mother (or "Gebirah"). Mary is our eternal Gebirah.

1 Kings 2:19 - in the Old Testament Davidic kingdom the King bows down to his mother and she sits at his right hand. We, as children of the New Covenant, should imitate our King and pay the same homage to Mary our Mother. By honoring Mary, we honor our King, Jesus Christ.

1 Kings 15:13 - the Queen Mother is a powerful position in Israel's royal monarchy. Here the Queen is removed from office. But now, the Davidic kingdom is perfected by Jesus, and our Mother Mary is forever at His right hand.

2 Chron. 22:10 - here Queen Mother Athalia destroys the royal family of Judah after she sees her son, King Ahaziah, dead. The Queen mother plays a significant role in the kingdom.

Neh. 2:6 - the Queen Mother sits beside the King. She is the primary intercessor before the King.

Where in the Bible is "rapture"??????

Source(s): . LET US IMITATE MARY AND MAKE ROOM FOR GOD IN OUR LIVES .

The twelve stars above her head apply to both the twelve patriarchs of the tribes of Israel (original people of God), and the twelve apostles (renewed people of God).

Source(s): Mary is Queen of Heaven

likely they refer to the twelve signs of the zodiac, as the bible is little more than a series of plagiarizations based on astrology

edit: morning star-"In Genesis (Joseph's dream in Genesis 37:1-10) , Jacob clearly understood that he was the sun, his wife was the moon, and his twelve children were the stars"

    like i said.
