If Obama looses the election. . .

What would Black Americans supporting Obama do if he lost? Would they feel betray by the system? Would this rejection of the first successful Black presidential contender take us years behind in Black/White relations in the US?

By the way, I am white and I support Obama because I believe he has a vision that represents our best chance to get out of the mess G. W. Bush and Cheney have created. And I don't believe McCain would do much to improve our situation, neither here or abroad.

First, I would LOVE to hear what this "vision" you see Obama proposing. I hear no one able to define "Change", or "Hope" or even the "Yes we can".................. He won't do anything more than any other person elected into POTUS. Problem is, he can do a great deal to damage and even destroy our country. But back to this "vision" ????

Source(s): Once again you see proof where it is always the Obamabots who bring up the race card. They just CAN'T accept the fact people will vote the man down because he is unqualified and inexperienced.

My belief (white me) is that if Obama loses it is because he has not had enough experience to make a lot of voters comfortable seeing him as our leader. My belief (again as white me) is that there will be ever so many black people here who will claim that Obama did not win because he was black. One election is not going to change racial problems that have simmered in this country for close to 200 years. When you consider how long it took to get where we are we can't be much farther behind in black/white relations than we are now. We need new brave thinking and a willingness to truly listen and learn on both sides. Anything else is just a band aid.

    Maybe, maybe not.

That would depend a great deal on HOW he lost. But considering the past two elections and the questions and rather bad decisions of lawyers and politicians (especially in 2000), I believe its more likely to happen in a way in which they would feel betrayed by the system.

That is, of course, assuming he loses. The odds are with him still at the moment, not against.

United States history has shown that African Americans are a resilient group of people. Many will be upset like any other person whose candidate does not win, but they will stand up, brush themselves off and move forward.

A better question would be "what do you think all the white supremist groups will do when he wins?". November will be a very interesting month this year.

    loses.

    they will get over it.

They should be Republicans. Republicans support economic growth and investment to create job opportunities. Dems just want governmetn jobs and a weak economy that keeps them in power. Repubs also support school choice and charter schools while Dems are in bed with the unions.

    YES...obama will lose

Yes, blacks will be bitter and pockets of black communities will probably resort to the same rioting (of thier OWN communities) as every other time they feel cheated

and finally...YOU are woefully mis-informed, politically ignorant and no different from the saps that voted bush into a second term if you really believe what you just wrote about obama having a "vision".

I am also a white supporter of Obama not only because I think he'd be a good president, but McCain wouldn't be. If Obama loses, it will only be because racism is still a problem in America, which is really sad. I personally never understood why the color of a person's skin matters. McCain wouldn't improve our situation, if anything he'd make it worse. Obama can right all the wrongs that George W. Bush has made us face. Obama 2008.

The same thing we did when Al Gore and John Kerry lost.

It is not the end of the world if Obama loses.

But I am very hopeful that he will win.

Too bad his phony "vision" of change wont get us anywhere in reality. Words wont change America, deeds will

Why should they feel betrayed because he lost? For God's sake the guy is half white too. This whole election is becoming such a farce lol
