I just spent a good deal of time giving an answer....
to a young girl who lives in an abusive alcoholic home. i posted links for help and gave her suggestions. after spending a great deal of time trying to give this poor, young girl the information she might need for help, Yahoo Answers is "taking a break"?
This happens to me frequently. does anyone know why?
I'd also like to say i'm worried for this little girl -- she's only 13 or so and really needs information and help.

Try using Firefox as your browser. When you get an error, you can simply use the back button and the information you posted will be there. This has come in handy with sites other than Y!A.
Plus, if you install the AdBlocker add on, you will all but forget the internet is littered with advertisements.
The "Taking a breather" message simply means that at the moment you submitted your response, the Y!A servers were too busy to handle your post. Usually if you just go back and submit again in a few seconds, it works fine.
Another option you can consider - especially when typing responses like the one you described - is typing the response in a text editor or word processor and then copying and pasting the information into Y!A. That way you still have the message on your computer if you get an error.

With all of the users, they probably need to shut down the website to clean it up and stuff... Having so many people on at one time clogs the servers and I've heard that can cause glitches and problems in websites.

Because they don't care about the poor or the abused children, like you and I do.

Perhaps you overloaded Answers with good, valid information and you broke it.
